The Ghost of Fu Kang Walker Announce Self-Titled Debut EP; First Single Out June 17
The new single from Eastern Pennsylvania five-piece The Ghost of Fu Kang Walker isn’t streaming yet for public consumption, but it’s out on June 17 and it heralds the coming of the band’s first EP, self-titled and set to be issued physically as part of a split with Neighbor Dan. The name of the track in question is “Out of Body Experience,” and while the band’s singles to date have acquitted them well in terms of songwriting, the production on the new track, as opposed to, say, “The Prophecies” streaming below, sees them as that much more assured of what they’re doing in beginning to feel out their niche in heavy rock.
These may prove formative days in the life of the band — we are talking about a first EP, mind you — but the bluesy edge in “Out of Body Experience” and the fuller, smoother tone showcase their craft well and make them sound like a group figuring it out working in the influence of straightforward rockers like The Age of Truth, who add a similar touch of atmospherics to what you hear in the second half of the new track.
So I guess this is the announcement of that song, but if you need to set an alarm or calendar reminder or some such, in listening to the track it seemed like the kind of thing I’d probably want to refer back to later. That’s usually a good sign from my standpoint, which of course you can take as you will.

The Ghost of Fu Kang Walker to Release New Single: Out of Body Experience
The Ghost of Fu Kang Walker is excited to announce the release of their new single: Out of Body Experience. The new track is set to be released on Friday, June 17th on Spotify.
The song is the first of five new tracks to be released this summer. Following the success of their debut demo tracks, the band is excited to unveil their self-titled EP later this year. All five tracks will also be available on vinyl and CD as a separate release on Chumpire Records. The vinyl and CD release will be available as a limited-edition split LP with Western Pennsylvania’s Neighbor Dan.
The members of GFKW are excited to share their new song and looking forward to releasing more material in the coming months.
