Freak Valley Festival 2024 Makes Second Lineup Announcement
Posted in Whathaveyou on October 19th, 2023 by JJ KoczanI wrote part of the second announcement from Freak Valley Festival 2024 just yesterday, as it was a surprise that the batch of bands being added were all ready to go at some late notice. Not to say I mind, just that this is all pretty fresh in my head. Apparently Amyl and the Sniffers are big enough to come from Australia and headline in Germany, which is news to me, but that’s cool and something different is welcome alongside such familiar entities as Monolord and Kadavar and 1000mods.
There’s a lot here I’m looking forward to seeing, even just having caught Kadavar in August. With Douwe from Splinter having been in Death Alley, it’ll be great to see him again, and to witness bands like Slomosa, Godsleep, Daevar and Fuzzy Grass is to look at where European heavy rock is headed. The answer to that question, incidentally, is “everywhere.” With riffs.
The sentences with the bands are mine, and I did a little work on the second paragraph with the memories and all that. And you know the only reason I mention it is because I’m trying to keep track for myself however many years from now.
