Elder Announce Lore 10th Anniversary European Tour
Concurrent to first lineup announcements for Sonic Whip 2025, Desertfest London (actually they’re a couple hours early for that one), and presumably Berlin and Oslo, clearly Elder‘s Spring 2025 European tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of 2015’s Lore (review here), which was also my pick for the heavy album of the decade, is going to be a pretty big deal as regards the seasonal circuit.
That’s not a surprise by any means, and certainly Lore is a landmark in terms of the band’s ongoing progression and the genre as a whole. It’s an anniversary worth marking. I’m curious when they’ll do the US, of course, but they do mention those dates are impending, and that’s fine. Part of why I want to know is that this tour will seemingly precede the band recording the follow-up to their latest album, 2022’s Innate Passage (review here), which they seem to have been chipping away at writing between tours. When they’ll get there depends in part on how much of the year they’ll spend with Lore, so we’ll see how it goes on timing. If it’s 2026 before their next album comes, at least it’ll be something to look forward to. They’ve got the Live at Maida Vale BBC session out now if you’re looking for something to hold you over.

ELDER Announce “Lore” 10th Anniversary Tour!
Progressive psych rock masters ELDER have announced a European tour for 2025, playing their ground-breaking, third studio album “Lore” (released in 2015 on Stickman Records) in its entirety!
The band states: “Lore is turning 10 years old. This album marked a point of departure for Elder upon a path which the band is still walking now. For us, this is the record where the band came into its own as a unique voice in the heavy rock underground. As we approach our second decade as a band, we feel it’s appropriate to look back on this landmark for us and acknowledge it properly, which is why we’re doing a tour performing the entire album along with some other tracks from our earlier catalog; we’ll give this era of the band a proper celebration before turning our attention once again toward the future and the next album, currently being written.
We’ll also be doing a run in North America, which will be announced shortly as well.”
