Clouds Taste Satanic Sign to Majestic Mountain Records

For the last eight years, New York instrumentalists Clouds Taste Satanic have been on their own wavelength within a doomly sphere, creating material that edges toward progressive and psychedelic and is no less comfortable in its most wretched moments. A new double-album will be issued later this year through Majestic Mountain Records, and to the best of my knowledge, the upcoming Tales of Demonic Possession is the first Clouds Taste Satanic full-length to receive a label-backed release, all their prior works having come out DIY-style.

They’ve worked hard in terms of self-promotion, and I wouldn’t expect that to stop, despite the allegiance with Majestic Mountain, since so much of the band’s presence is through social media. That said, they have hinted at plans to head to Europe in 2023, which if Majestic Mountain is thinking of putting together more fests, well… you can do that math on that one.

Congrats to the band and to the label. Here’s the announcement from the latter, including a quote from the former:

Your MMR Newswire once again comes knocking with an awesome update from the Mountain:

We are delighted to finally announce the signing of epically instrumental, post demonic doom beasts Clouds Taste Satanic.

A monumentally accomplished four-piece with a lengthy, prolific history of beautiful self-released and dynamic long format output, Clouds Taste Satanic use their dexterously deviant riff wizardry as an arcanely progressive vehicle which takes the listener on an expansively sinister voyage through psychedelically charged and rhythmically titanic territories.

The band gives us the following thoughts about joining The Majestic Crew:

“Anyone who knows Clouds Taste Satanic knows that for the most part, we’ve always done things on our own. When you are an Instrumental Doom band that plays 20-minute songs, it’s something you get comfortable with. Unlike most labels that preach diversity, Majestic Mountain walks the walk. Although the label boasts plenty of bands that define heavy, they are not afraid to release more eclectic and challenging albums that expand the definition of “Doom” and “Stoner”. It’s a label with passion and enthusiasm that looks to the future, not to the past, and for a band that wants to grow, it’s a perfect fit. Besides, Marco, Svempa and Vesper are good people who love music. That has to count for something.”

Clouds Taste Satanic gives us ‘Tales of Demonic Possession,’ which will be a four-headed demonic beast in double vinyl with the full Majestic Treatment.

Coming to you this autumn, presale information is imminent so keep an eye out for more!

Please join us in giving Clouds Taste Satanic a warm welcome to the Majestic Mountain Records Roster!
