Yes, that was an Oz reference. I’ve been watching reruns. Sue me.

In between doing that this weekend and class work, I was checking out the ol’ whathaveyou on the StonerRock.com message board and found that someone there, whether it was a member of the band itself or not, was promoting the German by way of New Zealand act An Emerald City, which he (let’s assume it was a guy) did with three simple words: “Ambient Psychedelic Music.” Sold.

One link to the band’s MySpace later and I was grooving on their worldly digs as taken from their record, Circa Scaria, which is apparently out on vinyl now. I’m not going to get into review territory, because obviously I haven’t heard the whole thing, but what they’ve got on there should serve as a decent fix for seekers of the worldly and chill psych arts. They don’t get especially heavy, but there are some definite rocking moments. Just a friendly recommendation if you’re looking for something to hear on this Monday afternoon.
