Yellowtooth to Release Crushed by the Wheels of Progress July 21

When Indiana trio Yellowtooth made their full-length debut in 2012 with Disgust on Orchestrated Misery Recordings, the primary impression, if you’ll recall the track stream, was that the band was very, very pissed off and ready to groove about it. Call me crazy, but I somehow doubt the forthcoming sophomore outing, Crushed by the Wheels of Progress, offers much letup either sonic or in terms of mood.

The new album is out July 21 through the same label, and Yellowtooth will premiere another song here next week, so stay tuned for that. Until then, here’s info from the PR wire:

YELLOWTOOTH to Release ‘Crushed by the Wheels of Progress’ July 21 on Orchestrated Misery Recordings

Michigan City, Indiana’s own YELLOWTOOTH will release Crushed by the Wheels of Progress July 21 on Orchestrated Misery Recordings.

Pre-order Crushed by the Wheels of Progress here.

Crushed by the Wheels of Progress contains eight tracks of bone-splintering, swamp-soaked groove. Dark and heavy with memorable songwriting, the sophomore release is one hell of a jam! The CD was recorded at BANG STUDIOS in Chesterton, Indiana with John Hehman (guitarist for YEAR OF DESOLATION). The band looks to share the stage with labelmates PSYCHOMANCER this summer and fall in the Michigan/Indiana/Illinois region.

The Michigan City, Indiana members of Yellowtooth have finally released their 2nd recording, titled Crushed By The Wheels of Progress on Orchestrated Misery Recordings. Working with Year of Desolation guitarist/studio engineer John Hehman at BANG STUDIOS in Chesterton, Indiana, the band captured their brand of smoke filled, swamp soaked tunes & have unleashed 8 new songs. With a hint of southern stoked riffs & catchy bass and drum rhythms, this 45 minute treat ventures into new musical territory for the band as it’s decidedly more aggressive than their initial recordings. Building off the success of their debut CD Disgust the band continues to forge ahead and build the ‘tooth following.

Formed in 2008 by bassist/vocalist Peter Clemens (Invasion, Nocturnal Torment, Skullview, Sea of Tranquillity) he quickly joined forces with Michigan City’s Chronic Disorder (Ed Kribs – drum and Henry McGinnis – guitar/vocals) and started collaborations immediately with these seasoned veterans of the music scene. Taking influences from Orange Goblin, Clutch, Weedeater, COC, Alabama Thunderpussy and Black Sabbath the trio conjured up a 4 song demo showcasing the bands potential! The following year resulted in the “Disgust” debut on OMR.

Yellowtooth will be doing sporadic shows in the region with fellow labelmates Psychomancer over the next 6-8 months to push the new release with shows in Chicago, Milwaukee and South Bend.
