Done for the day

I’m not closing out this week with the usual Friday Full-Length. If you came here looking for that, I’m sorry. I’m tired, I’m miserable, and all I want to do is go back to bed, so that’s what I’m going to do. It’s been another week in a succession of weeks. I am glad it’s over and I look forward to next week the way I looked forward to this one, which is to say I don’t.

Quarterly Review starts Monday, goes to the following Tuesday. 70 records covered. I’ve got a premiere confirmed in there for new Spirit Mother songs, but other than that, strictly QR for that time and I promise nothing as regards posts other than that. I’m in neither a position nor a mood to do so. As noted, I’m going back to bed. For the three people who might be looking for the closeout post, I’ll try again next week. I’ve got a record and everything, I just don’t feel like I have it in me to do justice to what I want to write about.

And if you’d leave a comment on this post, please don’t. I’ll probably delete the post and I wouldn’t want to trash any comments as part of that.

Great and safe weekend, etc.

Yeah well… I’ll leave a comment anyway. I’ll take my chances.
I feel your vibe and I’ve been there a lot of times. You do what you have to do. If you need some time off, take it. Just know that there are probably a lot more people than you realize that really appreciate what you’re doing. I check this page daily. Daily!
    Just so you know.
There’s a lot of love out here.
Take your time to fuel up. It might take longer than you wish. But it takes what it takes.
    Godspeed.

110% truth, JJ. Been following your site for over a decade. Essential reading every day. Say strong, friend, and all the best!

Dude, against your advice I’m leaving a message anyway. Your site is the first thing I check every, single, morning. Your dedication to the music I love cannot be measured, nor can I thank you enough. Life is a battle that I think I’m losing every day but the music I love that you either write about or bring to my attention, make existing worth it. Stay strong mate.

I look forward to the Friday post, especially the personal bit at the end. I find myself hoping every time you will say you had a good week, I don’t know you personally but worry about you. Love the site, rest up and stay strong!

PS I listened to the old Warhorse album this week, boy those fuzzy guitar solos are out of tune big time!

JJ, I barely ever leave comments, but check your site everyday. Love reading the posts, the way you write, the new bands and music I get to know. You demonstrate passion in what you do. That’s all it matters. Enjoy life! Cheers

JJ, you’re the best. That’s it. A great guy and a wonderful writer. People might not always say it, but they think it.
