High on Fire Announce Fall US Tour With Weedeater and More
I was fortunate enough to see High on Fire about a month ago at Bear Stone Festival (review here) in Croatia, and if there’s any doubt as to the on-all-cylinders status of the Matt Pike-led trio — there aren’t, but let’s pretend the possibility exists — I’m happy to put those to rest. Pike, bassist Jeff Matz and drummer Coady Willis get on stage, lock in, and dominate with volume and violence alike. A ferocity that in the band’s maturity has become a stately harshness. They are a cruel regime as they set out in continued support of their 2024 album, Cometh the Storm (review here), preceded by a reputation they continue to earn.
I’m sure High on Fire and Weedeater have toured together before this — considering the sheer amount of years and road time both bands have logged, it must’ve happened at some point or other; was it 2005? — but their joining forces across the Midwest and East Coast, which includes a previously announced stop at Desertfest New York, is an event worth marking just the same. High on Fire have West Coast dates on this run as well, plus shows in Canada and Mexico, so it’s a case where “North American” legitimately means more than just the US.
Also notable, sharing the stage with Exhumed and, for three nights in Chicago, Negative Approach, as well as slots for Muddy Roots in Tennessee and Hipnosis Festival in Mexico City. Quality tour, packing ’em in. You’d almost think these guys were professionals or something.

Grammy-Winning Group Extends Global Grand Slam; New Album, ‘Cometh the Storm’, Available Now!
High on Fire, has announced additional North American headlining tour dates in support of its new LP, ‘Cometh the Storm’. The GRAMMY Award-winning group, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will kick off the first leg of the 23-city tour on August 31 in Louisville, KY; the trek will include spotlight performances as part of both the Muddy Roots Festival (September 1) and NYC’s Deserfest (Sept. 13). The second leg will run from October 2-12, and the third from October 26-November 2, concluding with a featured performance at Mexico City’s Hipnosis Festival.
The High on Fire tour will feature support from Negative Approach, Weedeater, and Exhumed in various iterations. Tickets for all dates will go on sale Friday, August 2 at 10 AM local time. The just-announced tour dates are as follows:
