The last four bands added two Ripplefest Texas 2026 are Witch Ripper, Friendship Commanders, For Fuck’s Sake and Unger, and that’s pretty emblematic of the fact that the four-dayer that for many has become the epicenter of the US festival year can basically do what it wants and make it work at this point. To wit, who’s Unger? I don’t know. Do you? No social media, no announcement, no nuthin’. Just a name. And For Fuck’s Sake should make good friends with the likes of Dopethrone in the harsher realms of Ripplefest Texas, while Witch Ripper and Friendship Commanders emphasize some of the best the modern heavy underground has to offer, keeping company with Kal-El, Freedom Hawk, Howling Giant, and so on.

The way some of these announcements were made, a lot of this is old news to you, I’m sure. They drop a band a day on socials and I like Ryan Garney a lot — he’s both a stellar performer and a nice guy; my current go-to example for how to be ambitious without being a scumbag — but I can’t keep up with that and hope to write anything else. So here’s me catching up as the final adds are made and the poster is unveiled before you see it on t-shirts at shows everywhere for the next year.
