The Glasspack to Release New Single “The Fuzz” Jan. 20
Posted in Whathaveyou on January 8th, 2026 by JJ KoczanCould 2026 be the year Louisville heavy punk shovers The Glasspack release their long awaited next album, Moon Patrol? I don’t know. It’s been a while and by that I mean my first post mentioning the record was in 2014, but I’ll take the impending single “The Fuzz” either way. The first new, original music from the band spearheaded by guitarist/vocalist “Dirty” Dave Johnson since 2020’s riff-twisty instrumental “If You Don’t Have Anything Nice to Say…” will be out Jan. 20, less than two weeks from now. And it’s a ripper. Under two and a half minutes long, meated-up gutter punk thrust, attitude made all the more central by the subject matter, which is the heaviest aspect of all.
Longtime followers will recall the band’s most recent LP, 2007’s Dirty Women, came out through Small Stone. “The Fuzz” will be on the band’s own label, Riverrock Records, while their cover of Danzig‘s “The Howl” (and, I assume its corresponding B-side take on Misfits‘ “We Are 138”) will also reportedly see vinyl release through Third House Communications, as detailed in the PR wire info below.
So hit it:
THE GLASSPACK: Stoner Punk Band of Louisville, Kentucky, USA to release original single, “The Fuzz,” January 20, 2026 + More
New Music to be Released in 2026
THE GLASSPACK — The psychedelic punk band is set to release new material throughout 2026, beginning with the band’s new digital single, “The Fuzz,” dropping on January 20, 2026. The Glasspack dedicates this track to the protesters and activists of Louisville, Kentucky in 2020 regarding their endless efforts to find some justice for Breonna Taylor’s death by the Louisville Metro Police Department. The band’s founder and frontman, “Dirty” Dave Johnson, was one of the main Louisville attorneys providing pro bono assistance during the 2020 protests by representation for criminal defense and litigation of civil rights lawsuits against the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Featuring core original members, “Dirty” Dave Johnson (vocals, guitars) and Andy Garret (guitars, bass), the Glasspack thinks it is once again time for high-energy rocknroll recordings to return. To manifest that point of view, the band will be releasing more singles, and potentially their long-awaited Moon Patrol LP, in 2026 via their own label, Riverrock Records in Louisville. The Glasspack also has a new vinyl/digital single entitled, “The Howl,” coming from Third House Communications also in Louisville.
