Spirit Mother Announce Fall European Tour
Posted in Whathaveyou on July 6th, 2026 by JJ Koczan“Narrows,” the first single from the upcoming third Spirit Mother LP, Thistle, carries a characteristic sense of expansive, grounded melancholy that still reminds of waving grass and things vague on the horizon. Also it’s at the bottom of this post, which was the original end of that sentence before things went all gritty-melody, full-tone, gorgeous and sad. The band, now located in Burns, Oregon, after leaving Los Angeles as I’m told one might do, signed with Sound of Liberation Records earlier this year for the Sept. 4 release, and now the band have announced the tour that will see them supporting the album in Europe this Fall.
Spirit Mother were previously announced for Up in Smoke, Keep it Low and others, but the tour gives the full scope of where they’ll be and when, including a few TBAs that, if they’re not festivals, you should reach out and put them up for a show. I promise I’ll bug whoever needs bugging about bringing them to northern New Jersey when they’re thinking about heading east, but for now, this one’s on you. Help if you can.

Following the release of their sophomore album Trails, the band spent 2024 and 2025 relentlessly touring throughout the United States and Europe, including appearances at Desertfest New York, Levitation Festival, Rock Im Wald, Blue Moon Festival, Berg Herzberg, Festival Kult and Hoflärm. Along the way, they have shared stages with acclaimed acts such as All Them Witches, Graveyard, King Buffalo, Weedeater, Acid King, Melvins, Blackwater Holylight and LA Witch.
Returning home after extensive touring, the band dedicated themselves to writing and recording Thistle entirely on their own terms. The result is an album that captures both the isolation and beauty of their surroundings while pushing SPIRIT MOTHER’s unique blend of heavy rock, Americana and psychedelic influences further than ever before.
