Sonic Moon Sign to Ripple Music; New Album Out Nov. 6
Danish stonerpsych rockers Sonic Moon made a splash with their vibe-heavy 2023 debut album, Return Without Any Memory (review here), on Olde Magick Records, and have now signed to Ripple Music for the as-yet-untitled-but-a-press-release-is-probably-coming-soon follow-up. The five-piece from Aarhus have set a Nov. 6 release for their sophomore outing, and I’ll admit, it’s got me curious how the fuzz and mellow roll of the first record will have changed in the years since, whether they’re sticking to their guns in terms of sound or branching out either into psychedelia or the janga-janga push of songs like “Give it Time,” which I wouldn’t necessarily call straightforward except in the context of the clear worship of fuzz, about which you certainly won’t hear me complain.
Again, there’s probably a press release coming about this, but Ripple and Sonic Moon both made the signing announcement on their socials and you’ll find those below, dutifully cut and pasted. The label has promised other signings and more to come, so keep an eye on it, but in the meantime, the warmth in Sonic Moon‘s sound makes them both a good fit and a welcome return.
