Kanaan to Release New Album Oct. 16; Fall Tour Announced
Norwegian heavy progressive explorers Kanaan have announced the October round of touring that will take them to and through Heavy Psych Sounds Fest in Germany and Desertfest Belgium, and even though those three appearances — HPS is in Berlin and Dresden, Kanaan are playing both — and in the doing have unveiled the Oct. 16 release date for their as-yet-untitled next full-length. Really, it’s there. Check the poster. Same night they’re in Berlin.
This will be the first proper Kanaan full-length since 2023’s Downpour (review here), though in the interim they’ve had a couple jam-based offerings and a collaborative LP with Ævestaden, and also toured and shared drummer Ingvald André Vassbø with Motorpsycho, so it’s hardly like they’ve been quiet. The tour ends in Germany on Oct. 25, but there are also a handful of Norwegian appearances — a weekender in there, too — to round out the rest of this year and an Oslo date announced for January at John Dee that’s bound to be a good time. Don’t be surprised when and if you see another list of shows or two for 2027 either.
