Dwellers Post “Inside Infinity” Video

As to what might prompt a video release 14 months after the record came out, I honestly don’t care. I’m perfectly happy for the opportunity to put on Dwellers‘ May 2025 release, Corrupt Translation Machine (review here), that the new clip for “Inside Infinity” provides, and given the quote from Gearly Productions that was a comment on the YouTube page for it, I guess it was in the works for a while anyhow. Shot between a nice studio space and a well lit back alley, the song captures the melancholy of the track from an album that was correspondingly emotionally and stylistically complex, in addition to being an unexpected return after 11 years away from the band.

I’ve never seen Dwellers — they don’t play much, but shows aren’t unheard of; the lineup in the photo above is no longer accurate — but I was fortunate enough to catch a then-unbearded Joey Toscano with Iota in Las Vegas last year (review here), and that was pretty special. The two bands have always been linked through Toscano‘s vocals, psych-bluesy writing style and emotional expression, and Corrupt Translation Machine took the latter to a new level entirely. It wasn’t just a bunch of songs thrown together. It felt like it needed to be made; urgent but (obviously) unhurried.

My general assumption is that if I hear a thing and dig it, you reading this have not only already heard it but probably know more about it than I do, so I’m not gonna sit here and try to school you on the band, but just in case you also want to dive back into Corrupt Translation Machine, it’s streaming in full at the bottom, and whyever it’s out now, I’m glad the video surfaced to give a nudge in the direction of listening to the record again. It made my day better. I hope it does the same for you.

Enjoy:

Gearly Productions: “Man, this was so good to finally see come together. We shot this over a year ago and got to build something really special with you guys. Started as a professional gig, but working with you through the whole process — the planning, the shoot in the alley, capturing behind the scenes — it just became something more. We got to see how you wanted this to feel and move through it accordingly, and now seeing your vision mixed with what we captured is honestly awesome. You guys are all amazing at what you do!”
