Chiliomodi Rock Fest: 1000mods Announce Hometown Festival Sept. 12
No, 1000mods aren’t hurting for stuff going on. The Greek heavy rock forerunners have summer tour dates coming up starting with Monolit Festival in Hungary on July 24 and running to and through SonicBlast in Portugal in August, and then they pick up at the end of September for a full Fall tour split between October and November in Europe and the UK, respectively, that also includes more festival stops.
Still not enough? Well, the band have newly announced the first-ever Chiliomodi Rock Fest, named for and set to take place in their hometown on Sept. 12. The bill is five acts, and I’m not sure if more will be added, but either way, testing the ground and see if such a thing can become sustainable seems to be the intention they’re working with, and certainly having 1000mods themselves at the top of the lineup is going to be points in that festival’s favor as it is so many others included in their summer/fall touring plans.
The occasion, though they don’t say so, is the 20th anniversary of the band, who got their start in 2006, and for sure that’s reason enough. They’re set to be joined by Frenzee, Sadhus. The Smoking Community, Grim Rhythm and Drunk Jackals, and their lineup-reveal was posted to social media. Note that Grim Rhythm will also take part in the Fall tour, and they’ll meet up with Frenzee for a few shows along the way as well. Nobody’s strangers here and I think that’s part of the idea as well.
