Moon Destroys to Release New Album Omni Sept. 4; “Flowers” Video Posted; Tour w/ The Well Announced
After reissuing their debut album, She Walks by Moonlight (review here), last year after signing to Blues Funeral Recordings, atmospheric heavy rock trio Moon Destroys earlier this year announced that guitarist Juan Montoya and drummer/producer Evan Diprima were joining forces with Abrams‘ vocalist/guitarist Zach Amster in a new three-piece lineup for their follow-up full-length, due in September. Titled, Omni, the first details about that record (including the name) are now being revealed. Release date, as the headline says, is Sept. 4.
Montoya‘s album art, the recording details/credits and the tracklisting are out as of today, and pivotally, the first single and video have arrived as well. “Flowers” can be found at the bottom of this post, and with according post-’90s grit in Amster‘s voice, it feels like a new interpretation of the emotive heft the band brought to the first record and prior EP. I don’t know how the full album plays out in terms of mood — it just got announced; I haven’t heard it yet — but whether you consider it depth or reach, “Flowers” seems to have both in an expansive sound, and for today, I’m just happy to have another record to look forward to this Fall after a busy Spring. The world may have gone to shit, but at least the music’s good.
Moon Destroys are set to tour alongside The Well — speaking of killer melodic heavy bands — later this summer, and those dates can be found below as well, yoinked off social media. Dig in:
We’re thrilled to announce that our next full-length, OMNI, comes out on Blues Funeral Recordings on 9/4/26!
We’re incredibly proud of this record, which we started writing in-between tours last year. Although we weathered a lineup change a quarter of the way through the whole recording process, the end result — with the addition of Zach on vocals and second guitar — is the best representation of our band thus far. OMNI is our heaviest and favorite album to date.
