Green Lung Announce New Album Necropolitan Out Sept. 11
Today, London cult heavy rockers Green Lung announce the title, release date, tracklisting and preorders for their fourth album, Necropolitan, which is out Sept. 11 in continued cooperation with Nuclear Blast. Their penchant for digging into the occult history of Britain appears to be well intact as they move forward from 2023’s This Heathen Land (review here), and what could be more fitting than for Necropolitan‘s first single, “Evil in This House” to spring forward with a “Sweet Leaf” of a riff and a soaring chorus topped with Tom Templar‘s grim storytelling?
Tour announcement will almost certainly be forthcoming, so keep an eye for that. Note that Riley Pinkerton from Castle Rat makes a narrator appearance on the penultimate track. They’ve had gang vocals before, but I think Pinkerton might be the first guest spot. I’ll have to check on that when I have an imaginary five minutes to do so. In the meantime, the video should be live by the time this post is and the song’s on Bandcamp even if it isn’t and that’s below as well. Sounds a little stripped-down compared to the grandiosities of the last album? Curious how that’ll play out over the course of the LP.
