Uncle Acid to Release New 7″ & Studio Album; “Don’t Let it Control You” Video Posted

uncle acid and the deadbeats

The irony of “Don’t Let it Control You” is it’s going to get stuck in your head whether you like it or not. Uncle Acid, having successfully redirected the grit and buzz of their sound last year to soundtracking an imaginary giallo film on Nell’ Ora Blu (review here), roar back with a new 7″ to come and a new studio LP to follow, and the signal they’re sending is that the garage doom they helped innovate is still ready to be deployed. I’m not sure how long Kevin Starrs and company have been in this current configuration — I didn’t see them for Nell’ Ora Blu, yet — but you can hear (and in the video) see the emphasis on the urgent keyboard line along with the writhing melodicism for which the band are known. It’s gonna be a fun record.

Tour dates and tour dates and tour dates follow, along with info on the single and hints of the LP to follow. As to when, I have no idea. They’ve got more Fall touring though, so maybe then? Also I think dead of summer, when the humidity haze is blanketed and you feel like there’s no escape from your own sweat, would work, but I’m not in charge of these things.

UNCLE ACID UNVEIL MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW TRACK “DON’T LET IT CONTROL YOU” AHEAD OF UPCOMING ALBUM — WATCH + PRE-ORDER

Cult rock group Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats are back in the ditch with their new single “Don’t Let It Control You” via Killer Candy Records.

A blood-soaked taster from their forthcoming studio album, “Don’t Let It Control You” sees the band rip through 03:45 of psycho rock at chainsaw speed. Combining Fuzzrite guitars with driving Stooges piano, out-of-tune harmonies, and Shadow Morton backing vocals, this earworm will be sure to rot in your brain all summer.

Pre-orders for the single, the bands first 7″ release since Pusher Man in 2016, will begin today at this location. To accompany, the band teamed up with low budget B movie specialists, Tinnitus Productions, to produce an exclusive Super 8 music video.

The band is also announcing shows around the UK and Ireland in November to add to their Summer European dates. A full list of confirmed shows below.
