Mothership Sign to Heavy Psych Sounds for European Distribution; Album out March 17
Pretty much every time something cool happens concerning Texas-based heavy rockers Mothership, my reaction is the same: Well, they earned that.
Seriously, it’s just getting repetitive at this point.
The news that the Dallas trio, in addition to issuing their new album through Ripple Music in North America — as has been their custom across their last two outings: 2014’s Mothership II (review here) and 2012’s Mothership (review here) — will have a European release through Italy’s oft-discussed Heavy Psych Sounds is something of a surprise, but it engenders much the same response. Yup, they earned it.
Not that it was really a question at this point, what with their multiple-times-over veteran status, but this pretty much makes a European tour in 2017 a lock expectation as well for Mothership as they start to support the album, the title of which still awaits confirmation, though it’s US shows first starting right after the New Year that will lead them toward the new release’s arrival date, which they’ve hinted will be March 17.
