Brant Bjork Sets Sept. 30 Release for Tao of the Devil

brant bjork

Low desert kingpin Brant Bjork will release his new album, Tao of the Devil, Sept. 30 via Napalm Records. The record, which was first discussed here in an interview back in March, will be Bjork‘s second for the label behind 2014’s Black Flower Power (review here), and though I think the lineup is the same, it’s noteworthy that the full name of the band, Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band has been dropped off the cover art in favor of the simpler Brant Bjork moniker. Whether or not that will factor into the sound of the record itself of course remains to be heard.

The cover art, tracklisting and special edition info came down the PR wire moments ago:

Groovier than black power flower, thats good news. Hopefully Bubba learned the blues scale by now. Gotta love the old stuff from che, saved by magic, jalamanta, somera sol, the operators, punk rock guilt. Dylan on bass really made it groove. G&G was different but man it was amazing with Brandon on guitar.

  2. Jordi Castellà says:

I agree, wanna hear more of the old Saved By Magic & Operators sound, laid back, less harsh rock. Really look forward to Brant’s new work!
