Nadja Releasing New Album Sv March 14
It’s been years since the last time I managed to catch noise-droners Nadja live, and they’re damned near impossible to keep up with in terms of releases. As prolific as you’d expect the relentlessly creative to be, perhaps, but still, that’s a lot of drone to catch. Their new album, Sv, for instance, will be released on March 14 via Essence Music with limited handmade versions and extras included and so on. It follows a digital live release called The Bungled & The Botched (Moving Noises Version) that was released — wait for it — on Feb. 12. Generous of them to let a full month go by before their next offering.
Still, while it might take a lifetime to process their output, I won’t fight with the impulse to try. The PR wire sends info about Sv that looks an awful lot like this:
Nadja – Experimental Ambient Noise/Doom Duo Announce New Album “Sv”
Essence Music is proud to announce the release of Nadja’s new full-length album “Sv” or “Sievert” in full, which is a derived unit used to measure the ionizing radiation on the human body.
The much anticipated follow-up to the dreamgaze masterpiece “Queller” was originally composed to be performed at a pair of music festivals in Berlin and is comprised of a long, single 42-minute track combining Nadja’s layered, textured noise ambiences with polyrhythmic drum patterns that, in structure, approach an industrial, almost danceable sound.
Featuring the stunning artwork of Seldon Hunt (Neurosis, Earth, Jesu, Isis, etc…) and mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, OLD, etc…) “Sv” is set for worldwide release this coming March 14th on limited-edition CD.
