Steak to Release Slab City this September
After probably more than a year and countless email reminders, I’ve finally upgraded the WordPress back end to this site. I was up half the night doing so, and it’s a process that’s not yet finished. A serious pain in the ass, and as usual, for everything that works about the new version, there’s some minor tweak made that fucks up something I used all the time that was in no way broken to start with. Ugh.
Nonetheless, as the dudely dudes of London’s Steak remind us, life goes on. In their case, it goes on to the desert, where it records a full-length debut for Napalm Records called Slab City that’s due out in September. I’m looking forward to hearing this one, as both of Steak‘s EPs to date have been dead-on ragers, all riffs and ass-kickery and whatnot. The London outfit have also put in steady road time these last several years, so it should be interesting to hear what they’ve come up with.
The artwork and tracklisting have been unveiled for Slab City and you can see both below. I had no idea drummer Sammy had four arms. That’s probably a big help:
