Hooray for New Clutch! — “Earth Rocker” Live at the Machine Shop

If you’re clever, you can spot me taking some pics in the video below for the title-track to Clutch‘s forthcoming album, Earth Rocker. The band recently announced the first of what I assume will be many rounds of tour dates, bringing Orange Goblin with them as they crisscross the countryside.

I’ll also be seeing them this weekend in Allentown, PA, on their New Year’s tour, so look for a review of that this week. In the meantime, here’s “Earth Rocker” filmed live at the Machine Shop studio in scenic Belleville, NJ:

May I say I am jealous? I saw Clutch in 2009 in Vienna and Orange Goblin just a few weeks ago at the Speedfest in Eindhoven, Netherlands – such bands just don’t play Bulgaria. Rawk on and thanks for the stuff you are posting!

I saw Clutch Friday night ( w/ Wino, Mondo Generator, & Saviors < who blew every one away BTW ) and let me say this: I believe Clutch are back with a vengeance..as far as playing some heavier, up tempo stuff again goes. They played 4 new songs and all were reminiscent of earlier Clutch material and definitely more aggressive than anything from their more recent lps. As matter of fact they played a blistering set full of angst and energy, some classics not heard in recent years and I for one am glad to see the return to roots formula taking hold once again.
