audiObelisk & Giveaway: Stream SardoniS’ II in its Entirety and Enter to Win Their Latest 7″!
Last night as I watched the season finale of Game of Thrones, I couldn’t help but be reminded of instrumental Belgian bashers SardoniS. To herald the release of their aptly-titled second album, II, on CD/LP through Hammerheart Records, SardoniS will be hitting the road for a five-night tour that will hit the UK, the Netherlands and their native land. The bands they’re touring with? Oh, it’s just Saint Vitus and Acid King. You know, no biggie.
Oh wait, I’m sorry, that’s a huge biggie. Really, it’s the kind of show that makes you go, “dude!” and promptly rearrange your life so that you can go to it. Saint Vitus, Acid King, SardoniS. Three different modes of heavy that will still put you on your ass in a live setting. The core duo behind SardoniS of Jelle Stevens and Roel Paulsson offer a clear focus on tonal meatiness and battle-ready grooves, so if you’re lucky enough to get to one of those gigs (dates are below), do it up and let me know how it goes.
And the album, which is due out June 18, is a monster. SardoniS‘ II is out June 18 on CD and black, gold or clear vinyl through Hammerheart Records. The band is taking preorders now at their BigCartel store. The label also has copies available. Few things in life make me happier than a new release from a band as crushing as SardoniS! That split would fit nicely into the collection!
Sardonis is a crushing duo and the new album proves it. I didn’t know they share the wax with one of the finest instrumental band from the Netherlands, Tank86. Sure this will be a heavy piece of vinyl!

I tried to win the 7″ via Stonerobixxx by writing something eloquent about the how the heavy music scene in Belgium was “special”, had its own “identity”, did something a little “different” than the rest of Europe, but one of the winners of the three they were giving away was someone who wanted to win the 7″ for a friend in “China” and another listened to Sardonis to concentrate while studying for an exam. Whatever.
