Kings Destroy Album Info Revealed, and Not by Me

How stoked was I to find the following email about Kings Destroy in my inbox this morning? Well, I was quite stoked indeed, thank you for asking. Almost as stoked as I was last night after work when I went and picked up my portion of the physical pressing from bassist Ed Bocchino and I actually got to see And the Rest Will Surely Perish in the flesh for the first time. It looks fucking fantastic. I might take pictures of it and post them later, just because I’m so excited about this album.

There’s a lot more to come, obviously. Art reveal, live show info, track streams, etc., but this is the first round of info on the record, courtesy of the PR wire:

Brooklyn-based doom metal quintet Kings Destroy has completed work on its debut full length, titled And the Rest Will Surely Parish.  The thundering unit, which creates a powerful mix of stoner rock, doom and NYHC once described as, “a less sprawling YOB meeting a steroid-pumped classic Black Sabbath head on,” will issue the album on Nov. 30 via The Maple Forum.

Produced by Sanford Parker (Zoroaster, The Gates of Slumber) at the world famous Water Music Recorders (Motörhead, The Misfits) in Hoboken, NJ, Kings Destroy’s And the Rest Will Surely Perish is a sharp statement of intent.  Combining “powerful riffs and powerful lyrics” with a strong interest in futuristic ideas and science fiction, the record promises “a hefty dooming” delivered with a “sans-bullshit stylistic simplicity” that has drawn comparisons to early Cathedral and Solitude Aeturnus.  The album’s artwork has been designed by the venerable Seldon Hunt (ISIS, Caïna, Thrones).

Kings Destroy features guitarists Carl Porcaro and Chris Skowronski from NYHC legends — and 100,000+ album selling unit — Killing Time, drummer Rob Sefcik from Man’s Ruin artists Begotten and Electric Frankenstein, vocalist Steve Murphy from NYHC band Uppercut and Stanley bassist Ed BocchinoKings Destroy is a very giving unit; the band sponsors the Brooklyn-based AAU youth basketball team the Onpoint Cyclones, donating a portion of all band proceeds to the outfit and also held a benefit concert for Torche this past spring, when the Florida band’s van was burglarized.

The tracklisting for Kings Destroy’s And the Rest Will Surely Perish is as follows:
1. The Mountie
2. Dusty Mummy
3. The Whittler
4. Planet XXY
5. Medusa
6. Stung
7. Two Tons
8. Old Yeller

Kings Destroy will hold a special NYC CD release show on Dec. 10 at The Cake Shop. The live date will also feature The Brought Low.
