The Numbers: audiObelisk Edition

As I begin to think about making the next audiObelisk podcast, now seems as good a time as any to stop and take a look at how the others have done so far in terms of downloads. I probably shouldn’t be surprised to find the Man’s Ruin one the most successful to date, since many of those titles were out of print and are hard to come by, but I was relatively amazed the Big Lebowski one fared so poorly. Nobody likes The Dude anymore? Could’ve fooled me.

Here are the download numbers from newest to oldest, with links in case anyone wants to check out something they may have missed:

Transmission 007 The Summertime Blues: 105 downloads
Transmission 006 Rule, Brittania: 96
Transmission 005 To the Ruin of Man: 336
audiObelisk Dio-cast: 302
Transmission 004 The Burning Road: 197
Transmission 003 The Dude Abides: 109
Transmission 002 Ode to Fuzz: 151
Transmission 001 Best of 2009: 182

Thanks for listening.

  1. What, the Big Lebowski one is my favourite. It’s a great music mixed with an awesome movie, I keep listening to it!

I’ll be completely honest, I don’t really have time to burn listening to 2 hours of music so I only downloaded 005, 004, and the Dio-cast, mainly because I knew the sheer awesomeness would be enough to catch my ear. Kind of have to change up after a while normally though, you don’t exactly see me listening to k666 or the Soda Shop’s radio; Pandora and Last.fm for me.

Rule Britannia doesn’t surprise me somehow, being as this ain’t exactly the Seventies. They still have quality bands of all genres probably more so than other European countries, but…..

I love your audio transmission, I do. But something is missing to make them really enjoyable for everybody: it’s timecodes!
Unless you know the song before-hand, how can you guess what is this fantastic piece at 1 h. 26 min. 34 sec. ? I found out by myself, because I recognized Peter Stahl voice from Goatsnake. And I’m not even sure…
And who is that at 01:52:13 after the “new age” instrumental piece?, is it Queens of the Stone Age? Help!
It should be easy for you to write down the timecodes when you assemble the podcast… It’s hard to do it later.
Thank you very much anyway / Merci beaucoup !
