Inter Arma Announce Southern & Midwestern Tour Dates

inter arma

Anyone remember band on Relapse called Buried Inside? They were Canadian, around from about the turn of the century until 2010 and put out a couple records along the way. The thing about them? They were brilliant. I mean they smashed genres together like some formidably-sized Hadron collider, and though they have nothing directly to do with Richmond’s Inter Arma, the comparison to me still makes sense. Inter Arma‘s 2016 album, Paradise Gallows (review here)? Stellar. And they’ve gotten heaps and heaps of critical praise. But they should be a household name by now at least among open-minded metallers, and I don’t know if that’s happened yet.

A headlining tour can’t hurt in that regard. Inter Arma keep blasting away, keep playing the right fests, doing good tours. They still seem undervalued. One just hopes they don’t turn out to be the kind of band who has to break up before they get their due appreciation.

INTER ARMA: Announce US Headlining Tour Dates

Richmond’s INTER ARMA announce US headlining tour dates with Earthling and Bruce Lamont. The tour begins May 31 and ends June 9 including performances at Doomed and Stoned Festival & Raleigh Deathfest. The band continues to support 2016’s highly praised Paradise Gallows full-length album. A full list of confirmed tour dates is available below.

Additionally, INTER ARMA recently shared the live video for “An Archer in the Emptiness” on a new episode of Overcoast Music’s Sessions series. Buried Inside’s Chronoclast (Relapse, 2004) was brilliant, mind-bending, brutal. Had to be heard from beginning to end at each listen. Never failed to leave me altered. One of my all-time favorite albums. I never would have made the connection but yes, Inter Arma is similarly formidable and genre-defying, and both bands crush it live. I’m partial to Sky Burial (Relapse, 2013). T.J. Childers is the second coming of Ginger Baker.
