Admittedly, the music contained in the below clip for “Stormgod” by corpsepainted New York black metal trio Imperial Triumphant has nothing to do with the kind of thing The Obelisk usually does, but hey, sometimes you need a break from all that stoner riffage and doom plod, and the video for “Stormgod” hits all its Euro-style black metal cues. You’ve got a sacrificed priest having his heart eaten, a battle axe, fur, and there’s even someone’s girlfriend taking her top off and getting covered in blood — hence the NSFW above; lest your officemates catch you looking at some kvlt boobage. Or a cello.
Guitarist Ilya Ezrin informs that the band recently recorded their debut EP with Colin Marston (Krallice, Behold! the Arctopus, etc.) and that the video was directed by Jorge Torres-Torres, who has two last names that are the same. So that’s fun.
