Updates. Also a very cool article posted by Willamette Week regarding the belated Berbati's Pan and the almighty Dave Hite. Kind of a weird coincidence that the owner passes away shortly after they announce the end of live music.

Kind of a meager update. I guess all the Spring/SxSW related tours are getting announced within the next month?

Anyone going to see the Lemmy documentary over the next week?

Updates.

How shitty has Ash Street's booking gotten? Not even one remotely interesting show two months out on their calendar.

Rush: the pre-sale is the name of the venue. Starts in about ten hours...

Good to see Ancient Age on a bill again. I haven't seen them in over two years, and what a better time than opening for two of my favorites.

Actually Citi Card had their own presale all day on Tuesday for their card members. They did this on the initial 'Snakes & Arrows' tour and we got shitty seats because of it. I'm sure most of the best seats are already scooped up by Citi Card-holding scalpers. My lifelong RUSH buddy and I have said "fuck them" as a result of this. I've been on the RUSH fan mailing list ever since they originated it on the interweb and they still haven't sent me a password. Fuck them. If I can find a fair price on good seats, I'll go. Otherwise, I'm good with the other ten times I've managed to see them. Hate to say it, but you've got to put your foot down against this fucking corporate greed bullshit and they're playing totally into it, whether they're willing or not.

I can see where you're coming from. I don't care about Rush, but Tool (or the venues Tool plays at) does this and has aggravated me in the past for it.

Some of the special credit card pre-sales / pre-sales in general are easy to guess, though...

You need a Citi Card to process the order. I don't have one.

It's the promoter that pulls that shit, not the band... They also set the pricing: $80, $50 and $37.50 (plus fees). Shitty. Hopefully I can wrangle some free tickets.

Pick a non-bastard promoter! The band are the only ones who are ultimately becoming millionaires off the deal. That venue has turned over ownership three times since it was built, so I doubt if it's some sort of cash cow type of deal. It's ultimately on the bands to say NO to this. Turning a blind eye and saying "that's the business" is not an excuse.

Work some magic on this to your pals in LA Mark! :)

Saturday: YOB! It's Rabbits' CD release show. Norska (featuring the bassist from YOB) plans to have their new material at the show as well.

Sunday: early show at Plan B with Atriarch and Alaric!

I wonder what an "early show" at Plan B means? It gets over with at 1:00 AM? Although only two bands are listed, I can see the DJ generally dicking around until 10 PM.

I'll still probably go. Monday is a holiday and I missed Atriarch on New Year's Day.

Got my tickey to YOB already! Stoked!
