Here is the hit by Brown on Roszival in case anyone missed it.

Y'know that hit is a little tricky to decifer. From the Rosival's angle it looks brutal and intentional, but from thebflipside (browns) its looks less intentional. The commentators concluded that while an awful hit, brown was already turning away and that the hit was more or less incidental.

I didn't think that hit was illegal. It didn't look like he stuck his leg out of it's normal path to catch a piece of him. That photo makes it look worse than I thought it looked on screen. I dunno, I usually want to fall on the side that says these guys aren't trying to cripple the opponent, and Brown doesn't strike me as the type of guy who plays dirty. He's got the "C" too, so you hope he's a better leader than that. Also, anyone that thought that changed the outcome of that series is kind of a dreamer.

Anyone notice the kinder, gentler post-game Tortorella lately? I wonder if he realized he was painting himself into a corner and wanted to change things, or if someone in the league leaned on him a bit. Personally, I like the guy. Wouldn't mind having a beer with him sometime.

Tortorella is an asshole.

Also, the Rangers players should not be allowed to sew extra padding onto the front of their gloves to help their lame shot blocking "system" of playing.

Good game to close it out. I'm all LA for this one though...and it's probably the only time you'll ever see me say that. UMass alum Jonathan Quick...saw him on the ice at the Mullins Center back when. Well it was only a few years ago.

Well so much for Parise in an Avs jersey.

From now until the cup is raised, I am a Kings fan.

In other news, this is going to be a good finals.

Shut up, fan of a team that didn't make the playoffs again. He was a legend.

Lidstrom retires today, Holmstrom will retire next week. They're gonna lose a couple more players too, the Wings are going to look much different next year, maybe not all bad. Got lots of money freed up for salaries though, I think they're going to make a big push for Suter from Nashville, maybe Parise too.

I fell asleep in the OT last night, woke up right after they scored. I had to watch the replay this morning on NHL Tonight. I'm not digging these 8pm starts, too late for an old guy like me.
I think, if I had to bet on one of the teams, I'd put my money on the Devils to pull it out.

Sad to see Lidstrom retire. Not sad he won't be pestering the Hawks anymore. ;)
One of the all-time greats, and Im glad I got to see him play as many times as I did.

Great tweet from Alex Bolduc/Coyotes: I ALMOST beat Lidstrom 1 on 1 one time....by almost I mean chipped it past him and went for a change.

Thanks Nick!

Salary cap raised to $70.3 mil for '12-'13.

Lots of chit chat recently about the 'Hawks possibly moving Patrick Kane. Should be an interesting story to follow.

What are the Hawks looking for in return for Kane? I would think they could get a pretty package for him.
