I spun em back to back and the second one grabbed me more. but they're both awesome and probably better than the last double disc effort they had, the Summer Sessions.

But yeah, like you I'm digging Causa Sui a lot more than I expected to. great band.

Early impression is that it doesn't crush as hard as their previous album, Absolute Dissent, but I need more time with it. It's definitely not bad, just not sure where it ranks with their best stuff.

"FEMA Camp" is pretty much everything I could ever want from KJ. But I need more time with it too. Absolute Dissent took awhile to click as well, but it did have some clunkers on it imo (that reggae dealio for instance). I guess my initial impression is that it's a more lunkheaded/rock/heavy version of 'Pandemonium'. I do enjoy the omnipresent, pulsing doom synth albums from these guys generally speaking.

^ Caught one of the recent Unsane/Melvins shows...as great as it was, I'd give a kidney to see them play as a 3-piece w/ Dunn...should be a helluva show.
