The Devils aren't really financially troubled now that they are making such a deep run in the playoffs(and after the court decision excusing them from millions of debt to the city of Newark). The receipts from these playoff games(all of which have been sellouts) is a giant shot in the arm for owner James Venderbeek.

But the Devils in the final is just as good as the Kings or the Rangers because its the last run for one of the(if not the) greatest goaltender to play the game. They can fucking run wild with that storyline.

yuck.
Maybe they can orchestrate a Luongo for Bryz trade ? two ridiculous contracts for goalies that aren't the answer for their current teams.
Of course, that is a resoundingly dumb idea; but that's kinda my M.O.

You know it's weird because Bryz before his injury was playing like Mr.Universe, it's like he never achieved that form again afterwards. I wouldn't toss the towel in yet..

The flyers are also down Chris Pronger who could have been a game changer. I think Holmgren did a real nice job with the team and I think everyone would admit those Penguins/Flyers games were off the hook for playoff hockey.

NYR @ home tonight, The Penalty Joel Ward (He can giveth or taketh games apparently) took sucked cocks by the thousands last game. I hope it didn't take the air out of the Caps. I think they can still do it, they beat NY before in the same circumstances and the play is so tight it can happen if they don't make mistakes.

I tell you, hell has fucking frozen over--the Kings versus the Coyotes.....one of those two teams is going to the final. I think that Quick is pretty much unsolvable. I think that it'll be the Rangers and the Kings in the final. The Rangers have had their scoring woes, but I think that Quick is just slightly better than Lundqvist, and the Kings' players have stepped up as far as scoring, so i'm thinking that the Kings will probably win the Cup.

Damn. I really don't see Phoenix coming back after that one. The King have broke Mike Smith and Quick is in their heads. I wouldn't be shocked if they sweep them.

i, for one, am enjoying the 'yotes get absolutely destroyed.
they cheap-shot & dive like a bargain Canucks team, and now will suffer the same fate.
the kings look like champs.

This last game showed the Coyotes at their worst too. That slash by Mike Smith on Dustin Brown went unpunished. Which is bullshit.

It was pretty lousy officiating altogether. Except throwing Doan out.

Edit: This game did make me a believer of the Kings.

YOU BET.

This town is 99.9 percent a basketball town. I went up the street to catch the third period of the game the other night and every TV was on the Lakers. Every one. I had yo ask the guy to put the hockey game on and he put me in the corner and didn't turn the sound up. If the Kings weren't going to win it all this year then the Devils Rangers series would be much better because it would be a next-door rivalry that decided the Cup.

Bu the Kings are going to steam roll their way to the Cup the are so damn good. Fuck it, I live in LA and I have already seen the Devils win the Cup three times. I'm ready to celebrate the Kings.

^Saw that the other night, nice to see Brodeur is playing like he did back in the day.
I'm enjoying the post-season this year a lot, probably because I don't have a dog in the fight and I can just sit back and appreciate the action.

You know what I'm hating though?
The NHL network plays those Nickelback songs every fucking day during their highlights show, which I watch every morning whilst getting ready for work. I've always managed to avoid listening to Nickelback, but now it's starting to creep into my subconcious. And I even saw a commercial for a big tour: Nickelback, Bush, Seether, and some other shit band. Jeezus, who goes to those shows?
Remember when the NHL was cool, and they had Monster Magnet as their theme song?

Kudos to the teams that are left, but i'm not really liking this defensive hockey. The reason that the underdog teams have got so far, I think, is because there's still a ton of clutch and grab, and the more skilled players have no real chance to do what they do best. Phoenix has met their match, because the Kings specialize in that sort of thing. Mind you, the goaltending has been outstanding from all the 4 teams left in the playoffs, but these remaining games are boring as fuck. Philly and Pittsburgh was insane, and everything else is just completely anticlimactic. It's a shame that Philly and Pittsburgh had to face each other in the first round.

Yeah, Pittsburgh/Philly was insane, it was also some really sloppy hockey.

Let's face it, hockey is a defensive game by nature. Sure the 80s was awesome, but if those guys played today all you would hear about is how "they're not responsible in their own end."

^^ That. The Flyers/Penguins series was a disappointment and I don't even like either team. The NJ/NYC series is way more entertaining to watch.

Fucking hotel doesn't have the Coyotes/Kings game, so I'm stuck with the Kings radio. Better than nothing.

It's pretty fuckin' intense. For a while there the action was end to end. This has been an excellent series.

However...it still hurts as a Sharks fan.

Man, what a finish for the west. Those last few minutes were insane. Refs definitely blew a couple calls, but the Kings pushed through and showed character.

8-0 is a fucking crazy away record for the post season.

It must suck to have a division rival this close to the cup, but its got to be better than the Ducks. I'm totally on the LA wagon. When it comes down to it, I typically root for the West coast...Unless its Vancouver.

for awhile there, it seemed like they hated Doughty. but the Kings got past the officials.

The entire reason i wanted L.A. to win was summed up with the in-game, and post game reaction to Brown's hit on Roszival in OT. Clean as the day is long, yet Vancouver south played it like some cheap ass head shot. Smith said in his post game "he should be banned for life"
also fuck Doan for not accepting a loss with any bit of class whatsoever. He should know better, he's never won anything. he should understand how to lose by now.
the teammates of raffi torres not understanding what a clean hit is? Im fucking shocked.
So long Vancouver south. next stop for you douchebags SHOULD be quebec city.

LA vs NYR in 6, vs Devils in 5
