I wouldn't presume to argue opinion usually, and won't now. But if you have seen Yob live you know the records can't touch that level of intensity, and it's even more acutely apparent with Mike's solo stuff. Watching him perform these songs is raw and engaging in a way the album (which I haven't heard) could never hope to be.

I feel the same way about Scott Kelly's solo work, and to a lesser extent Von Till's.

Anyway, just pointing out something to consider if Mike ever rolls through your neck of the woods.

it's less sparse, less bleak. probably somewhat more accessible, in a good way.
