It was an insane contract for any unproven goalie, but that's how Dale ran the team.

Tallon, seemingly, can build a team, but that may be all he can do.
The panthers did very well this year, and a lot of that team's success came from the guys he brought to Chicago, and were then summarily cast off, or traded.
Make no mistake about it, that '10 cup winning team was his. But he falls in love with players, and over-rewards them. He may make Fla. a serious contender, but he'll flame out with dumb moves like huet, campbell or his stupid not-on-time-submitted contracts.

Speaking of goalies, I don't know if anyone watched Phx nsh last night but that was a show. Bothe smith and rinne handle the puck so much it was like having 3 dmen on each team. Gonna nO bea great series.

^^ Proper ripping. It's disappointing for me because I picked Nashville to make it to the finals. They need their firepower at all barrels to get passed Mike Smith and it's clear that Radulov is dragging his feet. One more player to add to the "Lazy overpaid Russian" file.

Is it just me or have the wheels come off for the blues and preds?

Man, it seems that way..

PHX is in for the long haul, I'm not suprised they're up 2 on the preds, TBH. They had a pretty good regular season record against them. LA has looked good since teaming up the dry island boys again. Kudos to guys like Dustin brown and Danny Briere though, I mean they eat so much shit during the regular season and come up big in the playoffs. I'm gonna throw Mike Knuble in there also, that guy is a workhorse.

speaking of lazy russians..

Damn. Brian Elliot sucked all the momentum that Chris Stewart had built for the Blues last night. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if LA ends up sweeping them. The Kings aren't showing any signs of stopping and the Blues have lost all confidence in Elliot.

I can't find video of it but that 5-hole goal has to wound their pride something bad.

The KINGS are going to win it all. They are so quick to the puck and so strong in so many ways. I don't see anyone beating them.

Which is problematic for me because I'm a Devils fan, but I also live in LA and pay taxes here so I want them as my team too. I'm in some transition years right now where I am rooting for both teams. If the meet in the finals my head will explode.

Haha, j/k Hornsy. I'm totally rooting for your Devils because I hate the Flyers so much.

kind of how i see it.
quick has dominated. the defense that nashville & st louis played basically all year?the kings have done it better in the playoffs.

my hockey crush on Dustin Brown is ridiculous at this point. i want him on the hawks.

One of the analysts from the NHL Network predicted the Kings at the beginning of the season. There for a while, it looked like they might not even make the post-season, but they seem to have gotten it headed in the right direction. Hearing lots of comparisons to last years Bruins too. It sucks 'cause I don't get to see them much, west coast start times and all.

Coyotes vs. Kings for Western Conference Finals.

That's going to be a brutal series. Good for both teams.

LA in 5.

Never would've predicted that Conf. final in a million years.
I've been rooting for the Kings for awhile, but just didn't think they had the team to keep winning.
Now I'm on the bandwagon. Kings in 6.

I hear ya. I went 2-8 in the first round and I'm sitting (EDIT) 0-3 in the second.
I clearly don't know a goddamn thing, but you all knew that already.

Yeah. I would've never picked New Jersey to best the Flyers but honestly watching that series, the Devils played like they've made it to the cup before.

I'm now rooting for New York to beat Washington. Just so we can have Rangers/Devils Eastern Conference finals. That'll be fucking crazy.

What do you think the NHL will do if it's a Phoenix/New Jersey finals?

I mean in terms of their own, tunnel vision marketing. The absolute wet dream would be Rangers/Kings final, but a final of two financially troubled teams without any of the NHL's media darlings would make a for a very sad Gary Bettman.

Flyers got their asses handed to them in this series. The better team won, and as usual the Flyers still have problems with their goaltending.
