First time watching the Mets this year and the lineup they have out there is almost Triple A worthy; only vets going is Wright and Hairston (who just hit for the cycle). They looked surprisingly good at first but then it all exploded with an 11 run inning for the Rockies, which was quite fun to watch being that they have become my adopted local team and the team I most closely follow and root for these days.

Angels decided to shake things up...released Abreu and brought up Trout. Harper and Trout making their debuts on the same day.

Mi9ke Scoscia got called out big time here since Torii Hunter said that the team has no spirit, have to think he's got a few more weeks before he finds out he's not irreplacable. Trumbo played 5 different positions in 5 straight games and still can't get into an anemic lineup all the time, despite proven power and a .340 avg this season. Abreu is a cancer on the team, Vernon Wells off in his own world. It's the GM who created a good stat/bad chemistry situation, but Scoscia may take the hit. Pujols is flailing harder than a gaffed marlin, His failure would me catastrophic for the Halos, high comedy for the Cards.

Can't believe anyone would be desperate enough to hire Physioc/Hudler. Hudler is borderline retarded, Physioc as exciting as the lovechild of Jim Nantz and that one female ESPN NBA announcer.

Good assessments on both counts. As Adam said though, they finally put the bullet in Abreu and demoted Walden and promoted Downs to closer. Man, I don't think it's going to be enough, but it's a step in the right direction.

I really thought their rotation would have kept them even to this point, even if the offense scuffled. I guess not. It's crazy; they are behind 9.0 games already. Even if they go on some insane run, they'd pretty much need Texas to play .500 or below ball for a month for them to catch up and I don't see that happening.

A lot of crazy games tonight. That Mets-Rockies game was one. I totally thought the Mets had that sealed up at 6-2 in the fifth and the game ends up being 18-10. Fucking Coors Field. Also Verlander in NYC ends up being a 7-6 slugfest. Cards hang 8 runs on Gallardo in two innings. The M's were totally dead in Toronto but that game gets extended by a throwing error at 8-2/3 innings and the M's end up coming from behind in 10 innings, with their weak-hitting pencil-necked outfielder hitting two dingers in the game for 5 RBIs. It was a rollercoaster ride in both of my fantasy leagues tonight.

That Rockies-Mets game was a crazy one, but maybe the most enjoyable game I have watched this season. As good as the offense was, the defense was just as bad. At least on the Mets side as they committed 6 errors. The one thing that blew for me was that I am up against both Cargo and Tulo in Red money league, which basically took me out of a number of offensive categories. Oh well, guess you got to root for real life over fantasy.

Mike Trout managed to have an uninspiring major league debut, though the Angels pulled out a win 2-1.

The Bryce Harper debut was impressive. He's looked great both in the field and at the plate. He just knocked in the go-ahead run (sac fly) for DC in LA.

Been watching MLB pretty much all afternoon-evening. Watched all of the BoSox/ChiSox; great game, probably the best I've seen all year. Lester versus Peavy. Peavy went all nine innings. He's looking GREAT so far. It's always a gamble with him though because of his recent propensity towards getting hurt. He doesn't seem like he's balls out all the time like he was in San Diego, but he's still pretty balls out, all effort in most of his deliveries.

Also saw the end of the Mets/Rox and Padres/Giants. Both great endings. Now DC/LA, which has also been very good. The winner of this game (and DC leads 3-1) holds the best record in the NL.

I'm having a hard time remembering the last time someone was booed while making his way to the plate for his first MLB at bat. Why did Dicky McDouche-Hair throw his helmet off between 1st and 2nd?

That was nice throw, though. Not as nice as Ankiel's, but still impressive. The arms in that outfield are ridiculous.

Forgot about that.

Fantasy is sucking for me so far. I thought my team was alright in Reds league but its a disaster as my first 3 picks - Cano, Upton and Reyes - are not doing anything for me at all. I have absolutely no chance without one or two of those guys performing at a Top 3 (round) pick level. Then in the Stoner Rock league, they teased me all week by showing some life and then yesterday returned to form and shit the bed. I definitely did a poor draft job with that team but thought some of my future moves helped fix things up a touch. Not quite.

Yeah dude, you're getting smoked! If everything holds to form today, I'll lap you in the standings. Only after three weeks! And we face off H2H tomorrow.

Cano seems like a can't miss pick, don't know what his problem is. Personally, i'd stay clean away from Reyes given his injury history.

Upton was just pure bad luck. I bet all of those guys end up performing to expectations before its all said and done. In my other league, I drafted Ellsbury #1 and its hurting me but not killing me because other positions are filling in. I'd actually be dead if Aviles didn't fill in very close to Ellsbury's role statisically for the BoSox and I drafted him on a lark with one of my last picks. He just needs to hold form until Jacoby gets back...

Reyes is one of my favorite players so I had to take him when I saw him available in the 3rd, regardless of his health issues. Had I known how poorly he would start this season I would have passed though, that's for sure. He's been worthless.

This Rockies series has been so great to watch while it has absolutely demolished me in fantasy.

Helton just tied this Mets game up with a pinch hit grand slam in the 8th, preventing my fantasy starter Santana from getting the win and thus tieing Frog in that category and allowing the week to have ended in a tie.

That said, I don't care. That was awesome.

Obviously he's a huge fan of Dmitri Young.

Longoria left Monday's game with what was originally described as left knee soreness, but it turns out that the injury is actually to his hamstring. We should hear an official update at some point on Tuesday, but the Rays may be without their best player until July. Fantasy owners would be wise to get a backup plan in place.

That sucks.

I have him on 2 of my 4 leagues for money which really hurts, but thankfully I have Encarnacion as my backup 3b.

Sucks re: Longoria...must be a significant tear if he's gonna be out that long...in my priority "winner" league, I've got him and Zimmerman on the DL now w/ Sandoval filling in...fucking Zimmerman's always on the DL.

Braun put on a helluva show last night...would've probably had 4 HRs in any other park...also caught a good chunk of Darvish's outing on the tube...filthy...just filthy...few pitchers have such an arsenal of pitches and even fewer have that type of command - of every single one of them.

Hell of a night; watched the last four innings of Phils/Braves, in which the game changed leads or tied five times, just in those innings! The over-under was 6.0 (Halladay and Hanson) and 28 freaking runs were scored! And to frog, that strikeout call to Rollins near the end of the game was complete horseshit and probably cost them the game. I hate seeing that shit in a game that far off the rails.

Then it was watching Marlins/Giants, switching over to watch the last inning of Weaver's no-no in Anaheim. Pretty good stuff all around. Man, Heath Bell looks shot and I drafted him pretty high in my "pro" league.

Speaking of which, I just saw that Kemp, Encarnacion and David Ortiz are ranked as #1, 3 & 4 in Yahoo respectively. I should be completely clobbering the $50 H2H league I'm in, but I'm just scratching out a 7-4 (14 stats) lead against Adam. You've got two more sticks than me up tomorrow, so I wouldn't be surprised if we finish even or even you ahead in the offensive stat categories tomorrow.

Glad to see the Dodgers sale become official. MLB doesn't feel right if The Blue aren't fielding a competitive team. It's the west coast kid in me I guess. I feel the same way about the Oakland Raiders and LA Lakers (who I'll always despise). The leagues feel fraudulent if these teams aren't at least in the mix of things.

Last night was a great night for sports. 3OT in the Rangers/Capitals game. Jerad Weaver's no hitter and the 15-13 Phillies/Braves game. You're right Red, that strikeout call to Rollins was bullshit. I'm more pissed at Rollins though for booting that easy grounder that would have been a sure double play. I'm starting to wonder if Halladay is hurt or if he is in the early stages of decline. He has not pitched well at all over his last 3 games. He's leaving balls over the plate and just doesn't look like right. I'm sure I'm just prematurely panicking so hopefully he can turn things around.

Wouldn't get too worried about Halladay just yet...he's obsessed with mechanics, and his velocity typically improves as the season progresses...even if he has lost a click or two on his fastball, he'll make the necessary adjustments.

Agree re: Wieters...while he will always have Molina to compete with on defense, there is no reason he can't put up Carlton Fisk-like numbers at the plate...really glad to see him coming into his own at the plate.

The Dodgers are a lot of fun to watch...will be interested to see where they are in August if Gordon can get on base more, Billingsley consistently pitches like a #2, and Loney adds some heft to the Kemp-Etheir combo...even if that doesn't happen, it'll be fun to see how far Kemp and Ethier can carry the team.

Aside from the Cards, I tend to watch scrappy teams, so I've been watching some Mariners, A's and Astros games...have been particularly impressed with Houston and their group of scrappy young hitters - 3 or 4 of which are hitting over .300...they got a helluva leadoff hitter in Schafer, Lee is still serviceable at cleanup, and they've gotta solid young power prospect in Martinez...unfortunately, their starting rotation is not nearly as promising.

I can't see Santana getting traded because of his contract. Unless the Mets pay a big portion of what's left to him and do they really have the money to do that.

Those three killed me , especially that first day when they combined for 4 homers between the 3 of them.

It was nice to see Upton come alive this week and Reyes has shown some signs of life as well. But its one step forwards two steps back as every pitcher of mine has had their worst outing of the year this week and I just lost who had been my most productive offensive player of the year (sandoval) for the next 4-6 weeks with a broken bone in the hand. I really need Cano to wake up already, he's my #1 pick and he's maybe my weakest player I got on my team not named Ike Davis.

Mariano Rivera had to be carted off during BP today due to a leg injury while catching fly balls. Supposedly in a lot of pain. Not good at all.

Another hit to one of my fantasy teams. Yeah, its going to be one of those seasons.
