I think WE have more experience and time on the course, not 21 playoff appearances in a row, majority of them balls deep.

Congrats to Brodeur. I feel so fortunate to see this guy play in my lifetime, because honestly, there won't be anyone breaking his records anytime soon...

Patty Roy was still cooler..

I'm starting to worry a little now that the Flyers-Pens series is now 3-2. The Flyers have a tendency to take off a period at a time and that's exactly what they did in the 2nd period last night. Thus, allowing the Pens to score 2 goals to take the lead and eventually won the game.

Pekka Rinne looked real good last night. My condolences to black aspirin for the Red Wings defeat.

Thanks, I appreciate that...I was crushed. I'm in Joplin, Missouri for a flatland contest, and got back in time for the 3rd period, when we were tied...and let them score just 13 seconds in. I knew then that it was over.

From that point forward, we didn't even look like we realized we were on the brink of elimination...Nashville still dominated us, and we sorta just went through the motions...like a dead man laying down in his own chalk outline. I think that losing the previous two games, after outshooting the shit out of them...demoralized the Wings. Our best had already been given, and it wasn't enough.

I hope this is the wakeup call that's been coming for 2-3 years...time to get rid of some old blood, and get hungrier, grittier players in the mix. I could do without Holmstrom, Cleary, and more. I still hope Lidstrom hangs in for another season, but my gut feeling is that he will finally hang 'em up.

Good 1st period for the Flyers. Hopefully, they don't come out flat in the 2nd.

As much as I'm rooting for New York, part of me wants Ottawa to be the only Canadian team to advance. That would piss off both Toronto AND Montreal, and that would be very right.

Bummed Sharks are out...some heads will definitely roll.

Glad Giroux smeared the ice with Cindy and the pegs, that was an awesome series.

I'm curious to see where the Preds and Blues go as they both man handled perennial west powerhouses.

Please, please lord, please let the Kings DESTROY the Canucks. This weekend is so shitty as it is...

*Holy shit, anyone see that faceoff goal from Ovi? I'm rootin' for the Bruins now, but damn, that was cool.

The thing is I hear that after every post season from Sharks fans and media. So far all that's been done is Dany Heatly is gone. I wonder who, if anyone, actually goes.

The big names we let go were Heatley and Setoguchi. We also let a few journeymen like Ian White and Kyle Wellwood, who I thought were actually pretty helpful. Then During the season we sold off one of our rookies who was having a breakout season; Jamie McGinn. Fucker has some skill...and brawn. I'm not too sure if we are gonna dump plays as much as the Coaching staff will take the hit, according to the numbers, we've been on a decline.

Honestly, I like TMac, but I understand why he may get the axe. What became apparent to me this season is that our team chemistry was found wanting along with our special teams. Part of this has to do with assistant coaches, and I feel a lot of the lack of team cohesiveness is due our fucking general manager blowing up the team, 1/3 gone from last season. For instance, you could clearly see Logan Couture's game drop off once they traded away a close friend...Jamie McGinn.

Goodbye canucks is right.
no team will ever be as diving, and faux tough as that team. the kings took the Boston play book and went right at them, and showed how one dimensional they are. RIOT TIME!!!
Tomorrow night... game 6 hawks vs yotes... think it'll go to OT, and make it 6 for 6?

Raffi Torres 25 games.
Fuck shanny, but finally he got a call right.

Just goes to show that if you're a 4th liner on a failing team in a bad hockey market and you injure a star player on an original six team, you're getting some books thrown at you.

Mike Smith won that series, he was un-frigging believable. a .950 sv %

gonna be some great goalie match ups in the west semi-finals.

Nsh over Phx in 6
L.A. over STL in 6

These Western games are gonna be nuts. All four goalies have the ability to steal multiple games right now.

I wonder which LA is going to show up to play.

It's interesting both Stl and Phx play a shut down brand of hockey, I wonder who is going to advance.

Agreed on Mike Smith.

Preds over Coyotes in 5
LA over Blues in 7

I think the Kings have enough fire power, but it won't be easy. I predict the Preds/Coyotes series to be very low scoring and chippy as fuck.

I'm rooting for the Kings to win, but think the Blues have better overall depth.

I'm picking Preds in 6, Blues in 6.

My condolences to Mr. Neutron, too. Is there anyone on this board whose team is still in the playoffs? From memory, it seems like we're all just casual spectators now. Oops, I guess Horns' Devils are still in it, although he hasn't been posting in this thread.

My caps are going to seal the deal tonight and send all those massholes home crying. At least that's the hope. Shame they couldn't do it at home though.
