The new Ufomammut is hitting me nearly exactly the same way Godlike Snake did all those years ago. All the mystery, the heaviness, the space - it's all here. Masterpiece. Just ordered the vinyl from ATiH (first order in a looooong time). The price was actually decent.

Just discovered Crowbar.

First listen...seems decent enough and gets better once they start introducing some riffs and solo's into their catalog.

This was a late bloomer for me. Didn't care for it when I first got it but now, a year later, I really enjoy it.

It is going to be next to impossible to knock one of these off for album of the year...or pick one of them over the other, for that matter!

Been rediscovering old D.R.I. lately.
And the "Snake-less" Voivod album, "Phobos"...really an amazing album!
Cave In-White Silence was pretty much an off-the-grid release last year, but I really like it! Very different stylistic format. First 2/3's of album are very heavy, very metal. Then, last 3 songs are classic, psychedelic rock. Nice come down once you get used to it.

Now onto:

The two best albums of the year so far in my opinion, with Ancestors holding the candle at the moment.

I wasn't blown away with Oro like I was with Eve the first time (though I did like it), but it's growing on me. Seeing them tonight in Brussels, which will probably only enhance my appreciation for the album (the same thing happened with Eve as well).

Aye, I saw them on Tuesday night. Certainly get different feel for the album after seeing it live. They played it all straight through, bits of it felt like early Floyd was being directly channeled in to the room.

I'd forgotten how god awful The Garage is though.

Ow yeah, looking very much forward to it. Can't go wrong when there is early Floyd being channeled in any room ;) Their show at Roadburn last year still ranks as one of my best concert experiences ever, so they have a lot of expectations to fill, but I'm sure they won't disappoint.

We're going to go early enough so we can get up front, so the sound can overwhelm me as much as possible, because I think that an Ufomammut show needs to be felt as much as it needs to be heard and seen :D

I preferred Tuesday night to that show at the Midi last year actually. Oro edges Eve in my book. Although that cover of Set the Controls.... at Roadburn was a classic Tilburg moment.
