Yeah, St. Louis won't be easy. I kept waiting for them to fall back a bit, but they just keep winning and winning. Hats off to them. Good team. I like their D, but wonder if the right team can shut them down on the other side of the puck in a 7 game series.

Also wonder how Toes' concussion will affect the Hawks. He's a great player and a great leader; someone you want/need come playoff time.

It looks like Chicago will play either Nashville or Detroit, or Detroit will play Nashville or Chicago, or Nashville will play Chicago or Detroit. The outside team will play either Dallas or Phoenix. And I know what everyone is wishing for.

as of tonight L.A. has assumed the division lead.
I'll take the Hawks' chances against Dallas, or Detroit... Nashville, or L.A.? not so much....
What has been a great 10 game stretch for me, now has me really worried. A 4th seed is within reach, but if the preds are the 5?
this will come down to the final game, Chi vs Det. as it should.

You are correct, sir.
Guess I checked before the West games were done.

My 2¢, I don't think Chicago or Detroit wants to play Nashville. Either of those teams should be less worried about the West (Phoenix, Dallas, LA) than Nashville. Those teams might not be easy, but I'll take 'em over the alternative. Chicago does not match up well with Detroit and would be severely tested in a 7 game series. It's still hard to say with both teams missing key players, so I'm prolly talking out of my ass.

Chicago has played Detroit very well this year. they would probably beat Dallas in a series. Phoenix and LA have owned the Hawks. Those two teams, and Nashville are the only match-ups that I don't think would give my team a chance.

I don't know if anyone in the west wants to play Nashville, they are solid. I think they have the best shot at winning it all.

5 games for keith.
I figured 3 at best, as that is what Doan got, but Keith did have intent to injure, i think... Vancouver fans were screaming for 20, Hawks fans think it was justified. (generalizing both fanbases, for sure)

The overreaction from canucks fans wanting 20 games is more amusing, but less embarrassing than the "new" fans that "will proudly wear their keith jerseys" because "he showed the sedin sisters"

rant time:

Me, Im fucking pissed that a guy wearing the A takes himself out of a playoff chase where his team can get at least one series with home ice. The hawks have a 20 year old rookie that has played maybe 30 games, Andrew Shaw, he took 4 or so real strong cross checks after the whistle the other night from Derek Dorsett, and didnt respond. The Hawks got a power play, and scored.
a 20 year old can show restraint, yet a 29 year old former Norris winner can't after a rough check from Daniel Sedin? The same kid (shaw) got head first boarded on the same shift, he got up and played on.

I hate cheap shots with intent... I hammer Kronwall everytime he pulls it, and I will hammer Keith for this.
I'm all for physical play, but trying to hurt someone is cowardly.

5 games off for Keith isn't really a bad thing he will be nice and rested for the play-offs. Not sure what to make of Daniels "injury" the Canucks have been very vague about their player's injuries this season. Hopefully Daniel will be back within those 5 games and our first line can get going.

On my way up to Denver to watch Vancouver give the Avs what for. As usual.

6 games left and one point out of the playoffs. Sigh.

Seems like the AVs are holding their own. It'd he nice if they could do the Sharks a favor though and uh, go ahead and lose.

Edit: Thanks.

^^ oh no, thank you for beating Phoenix and keeping us tied.

But getting it done in regulation would've been better. See you Monday.

I fucking hate Vancouver, in case anyone cares.

Vancouver is just to good at playing asshockey, or bitch hockey as my girlfriend calls it. Yeah, they have talented players, but their general attitude just sort or oozes this pretentious don't try to hit me but we'll put a stick in your eye whenever we can get away with it quality. Fuck Vancouver.

Thank you B's for stepping it up and shutting down los Angeles since nobody in the west could.

Haven't the Avs played the most games so far up to this point in the season?

Yes. And after next Friday we have a 5 day break!!! 5 fucking days to watch Phoenix, LA, and San Jose (and maybe Calgary and Dallas) gain points while we just sit on our ass and get forced out of the playoff fight.

Also Luongo is really overrated, imo.

he is a solid goalie, but has trouble in the playoffs. also has a ridiculous contract.

game one of keiths suspension: destroyed by nashville 6-1.
gosh nashville is good, and they played without their top scorer.

ill be glad if the hawks don't face them in the 1st round.

Yep.

I managed to watch a lot of that game. Nashville is a killer team. That Shea Webber goal (goal #2 I think) was crazy. They also seem to have Chicago's number but would make a killer series.

the hawks would not win a game against the preds.
if it happens that way, i would hope they just tell Toews to go on vacation early.

I think this sums up the Avs defensive attitude when your power forwards zoom into our zone.

Motherfucking Flyers blew that game last night. Looks like they will end up as the #5 seed and have to play either the Penguins or Rangers. Fucking great!!!

It was good to see ginner playing again. I like watching the Avs, those guys are fast, tons of speed, and young...they're gonna be more than a handful soon.

That being said, not to discredit pavelski and the rest of the top guys, but all four lines scored tonight...which is awesome. Now if only we can keep this going.

I'll tell you what, I'd much rather see Colorado in the mix over Calgary. Fuckers. Stole our goalie.

No argument there. Fuck Calgary. But we're both dreaming. That loss on top of last nights loss against Vancouver (sigh, again!) makes it impossible for us to break into the 8 spot. But it really all depends on the Pacific division since it's such a free-for all.

Look at the bright side, Crutch. The Wings are toast in the first round. Just got embarrassed by the Blue Jackets last night in another 'where is our game?' performance in which Babcock repeated the phrase he's been using a lot lately...'we weren't prepared to play'. Is he trying to get fired next year?

Seriously, I'm convinced that Nashville is going to clobber us in round 1. We might win a game at home, and that's about it. I'm not a fan of 'yeah, we're extremely inconsistent, bordering on apathy, but when the playoffs start, we'll flick the switch'.

See? There's always a silver lining.
