Next time the Giants are in the Super Bowl, are they going to be underdogs again? I know they went something like 9-7 on the regular season, but they did beat the Patriots during their "struggle". Not a severe shock to my system that they beat them again. They've now won two championships in five years and are what, 4-1 in Super Bowls? I know they aren't the Yankees, but they ain't the Browns either. I think it's that New York City "coming up from nothing, working my way to the top" storybook hooey that keeps the team and the fans deluded each time. "Nobody gave us a chance". It just sounds better that way, doesn't it? Caramba!

I dont see how they could be considered underdogs when just about every "expert" picked the giants to win

Quote:
Colts owner Jim Irsay says it's "up to" Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) if he wants to return to Indianapolis, but at a "much lower cap number."
It's a naked gambit to place the blame on Manning if/when the two sides' inevitable divorce happens. Manning would be unreasonable to expect the Colts to exercise his $28 million option bonus, but it would be equally unreasonable for the Colts to expect Manning to accept less money than he could get on the open market while simultaneously competing with a rookie quarterback. It's been clear for weeks, but Manning has taken his final snap in Indy.

At this point, Indy just needs to make their decision official. Prolonging the inevitable is just making this messier than it needs to be at this point and in the long run it is going to be Indy that loses out here. Indy needs Peyton more than he needs them. In 20 years Indy needs to be connected with Peyton for their legacy to mean anything, while Peyton's legacy will be tied far more with is play than with his team.

AZ can also get out of his contract by releasing him before his next roster bonus is due next month. The remainder of his deal is non-guaranteed supposedly.

Indy says buh bye to Peyton.

And the Saints are probably going to sign Randy Moss because they don't have enough drama surrounding their club as it is.

I guess Moss will be good insurance if they can't resign Colston.

Sounds like the Saints wont be able to sign Colsten.

They have little cap room and he's going to get himself a nice contract. Unless he offers a below market deal to NO, he seems to be all but gone.

Manning out in Indy is a very intriguing situation. How do you just dump, arguably, the best QB in NFL history? If he was healthy last year this situation would have never surfaced, even if they could have had the option at getting Luck (which obviously they wouldn't have).

Broncos seem to be making an aggressive push for Manning. Never thought I'd be rooting for it but to be able do away with the Tebow headache/nonsense would make the Manning acquisition totally worth it.

That said, I am putting my money on Arizona.

I'm also thinking he goes there of to the Chiefs. Either way, I think he brings Reggie Wayne along with him to where ever he goes.

Rams traded the #2 pick to the Redskins for a 1st round pick in 2012, 2913, and 2014, plus a 2nd round pick in 2012. The Skins better hope that Griffin is the real deal because if he fails their franchise will be screwed for many years.

Yep, the Skins effectively put all their eggs in one basket. I think it's nuts. Griffin will have to turn out to be a baddass if this trade is to be worth it. What is it with coaches who are/were good but then end up making these all or nothing deals?

That's a hefty price. Can't make up my mind on if it was worth it.

Jets give Sanchez a 3 year $40 million extension. That was stupid.

Randy Moss is heading to the Niners. This could be fun.
