Yet another live album I recently acquired that I should have picked up years ago. Killer boogie, kinda like the missing link between Foghat and early AC/DC.

What studio tapes are worth picking up?

All of the early 70s albums ("Dog Of Two Heads" up to "Blue For You") are worthwhile but - in the end - Quo Live is where its at. Their 60s psychedelica is more of a curiousity and from "Rockin All Over The World" on the sound got more and more streamlined - eventually becoming a self parody.

Someone else told me to get all those studio tapes before getting the live one but that sounded totally insane to me. Everyone knows you start with the live tape.

"Quo" is my favorite studio album, it just sounds a bit darker than most. Piledriver, Blue for You and Hello are good too but Quo Live is all you need really.

Even back in the vinyl-days without remote controls we skipped "Roadhouse Blues" most of the time. "4500 Times" on the other hand was the perfect song the annoy the shit out pretty much any party during high school ("I know we are not allowed near the stereo but one song should be OK, right? Only one song, come on?").
