Sounds a lot like Waste of Tiamat in parts... liking the second half much more than the first.

This is going to be incredible. I thought SFTD was good, but sounded a little watered-down. DVM sounds like its headed back towards DITC at the very least.

Sounds like Kruger. Which is awesome, because I love Kruger. I didn't really like the mix of the last one from what I heard, and I haven't bought one since "Thieves". This is winning me over.

Production sounds much better this time around. Song has me really excited to hear what they've done with this album. There was a live vid posted awhile ago with another song supposedly from the album that was slower paced ala the title track from DiTC that sounded quite promising as well.

SFTD wasn't a bad album by any means, but the production really did get in the way of my enjoyment of it more than I thought it would. Very pleased to see they're not taking the same route with the production this one. Sounds cleaner like DiTC, but plenty beefy.

EDIT: Found it.

Along with another I hadn't heard before.

I like it, the production sounds the best its been in a few albums now, and I bet it will be awesome live. A little bummed this doesn't have me jumping for joy like I hoped it would, kinda at the point with these guys that, album wise, I really could use them to change things up a lot from what they've been doing lately.

Relistening I think its the vocals that have me looking for a new approach...musically this does sound pretty fresh.

Seriously, am I the only one who is hearing re-hashed Waste of Tiamat riffs? Not that that's a bad thing, necessarily. Fireface is basically a rehashed Blood From Zion, and both those songs rule. I'm just wondering if I'm suffering from an auditory hallucination or something...

And just to reiterate, I'm not dogging this song by pointing this out. As my name suggests, I'm a huge HOF fan, ten years strong.

Along with another I hadn't heard before.

Looks like it's on the album, at least according to this:
http://myemail.constantcontact.com/HIGH-ON-FIRE-To-Release-New-Album--De-Vermis-Mysteriis--on-April-3--2012.html?soid=1103782231743&aid=fImjQ6i0FNc

I can definitely hear a little bit of Tiamat in it, which is cool. The vocals still don't quite sound perfect (albeit better than SFTD). I can't tell if it's the production or if he's just getting a little old and he's losing that signature stoner-lemmy rasp that he had on Thieves. Still definitely a first day buy for me.

For me, that Madness of an Architect riff is the coolest thing I've heard from Pike since Face of Oblivion. I'm really looking forward to this thing.

I like how it has the older HoF feel to it. All the new songs do. The production lacks a fuck ton of bass. The mix is shit in my opinion. Regardless I'm excited. I have high hopes for this one. The solo for Mouth of an Architect is fucking rad.
