Bassist of one of my all time favorites passed away on Friday. Glad I got to see him play a few times but even better was meeting him. Talked to him for about an hour after a DKT-MC5 show and got to hear some great stories from him.

Bummer. Great band, one of my favs. I'll smoke a bowl in his honor today. Right now, as a matter of fact.

Shitty--RIP Michael. On the bright side in his life, he'd experienced the surge of popularity that the MC5 have had in the last couple of decades. The MC5 were shat on, disrespected and laughed at for years, and the band disbanded amidst being broke, infighting, drugs/ addiction, etc.

Brother Fred and Rob had never seen that respect while they were alive, and I wished that they were there to see some respect and money, even if it was all those years later. Ron Asheton had thankfully eventually seen the same respect and adulation that wasn't afforded him the first time around, too.
