Yes. Every November the Raptors hold some kind of special ceremony for their veterans but because of the lockout they're holding the ceremony in March.

Canadian military is an oxymoron

didn't know Dallas lost ALL of their depth. they aint repeating by any means. they lost 6 stars this year. no more rotation, no more passing it around. so I don't know any of the teams yet, I'll make my prediction once I find out.

I posted this right as they were raising their banner.

What an embarrassment of a game. 35 point deficit at one point? Horrendous for any team, let alone the defending champs. Heat went into Dallas's house and handed them their asses and the door. And what did Odom get tossed for?

NY/Boston was a great game, though. Knicks looked great throughout the 1st half, but weren't consistent throughout. A lot is going to ride on Anthony peforming, but that doesn't seem like it'll be a problem so far.

great ending to the bulls lakers game.

bulls should be better than last year, but unfortunately won't be better than the heat.

Odom got tossed for publicity, he's a Kardashian, remember? I didn't see it. once his bitch finds there's no cameras following them around in Dallas she's leaving him and moving back to LA. I know I shouldn't judge people who are different, but what the hell does that family bring? them Wheaties boxes were a long ass time ago, that was before Jordan, before Mary Lou Retton, who come on, the Soviets sat that one out.

Lack of defense will be the Knicks achilles heel.

Weren't people around here dissing Luol Deng last season? He was playing like an animal yesterday. Deng fever!

He doesn't always play like that, but he shouldve been an all-star last year.
I'm glad he's finally stepped up to the big contract he was awarded several years ago, because it looked like that contract would be a killer that first year. then the bulls refused to include him in the trade for Kobe. he got a lot of heat, and deservedly so.
im not sure if the bulls can win a title with Deng as their second best player. id like to be proven wrong.

Kobe's never leaving LA. what are you talking about? man he did the baddest move yesterday, so I gotta pick them to win it all, unless his teams just hands the game like they did last year, they'd make a play, then the next one the blew it so it seemed intentional.

I think the only team Kobe would leave the Lakers for is the 76ers. His father played for the Sixers and he is from Philly so when his current contract ends i could see him playing for the Sixers for his last year or two.

That shot exchange between Carter and Durant was amazing. What an ending.

DRose out-dueled CP3 tonight, Bulls showing they might lead in wins again, going 3-1 on the road to open the season. Clippers help defense isn't very tight so far, rotations are late, so Clips don't get those fast breaks chances and are giving up a high FG%.

Nice to see Kobe with hops and a smooth stroke after the injuries, but he looks like he's trying to do too much every game. I do like the increased defensive pressure under Brown though. Also, hearing "world peace steals the ball, world peace throws it down..." is hilarious.

world peace, hilarious. Kobe looks healthy as ever to me, still the best by far. if he can light that fire up at will...

these young stars don't know shit about defense. I was thinking Mike Brown will keep the Lakers with some, but Mike Brown has no offensive strategy other than the 1-4. them guys live and breathe the triangle which is just masterful. The Lakers need minimal coaching, so the more Mike Brown becomes vocal the worse they'll do. The latter rounds of the playoffs when they're being outsmarted is where they'll be exposed, like the Cavs were each year. nobody believes in Mike Brown deep down.

maybe the Spurs make a run, but the Lakers only lost their bench player, so I could pick them if they show up every play. the Heat thinks they're some bad guys people don't like, but nobody cares because attitude doesn't make up for basketball fundamentals such as touch. it's too obvious they're their own biggest fans.

So Kobe put up 48 with torn ligament in his shooting wrist, and probably could have had 50 if they didn't get the final possession with less than 24.

That move past Grant Hill for the dunk and the lob on the next possession was pretty damn fun to watch, too.

Does he actually not have any ligament in his wrist at this point? I'm still not totally clear on that.

if im not mistaken he doesnt have a torn ligament in his wrist. the stem cell surgery that he had was 100% success and supposedly kobe is at 100%

The stem cell therapy was for his knee. He hurt his wrist during the preseason and more than likely it will be a lingering injury all year.

If Kobe takes a hard foul to his wrist it could jar loose a bone that isn't as secure with his torn ligament, but other than that his game shouldn't be affected. I mean I see how much tape he has on his shooting fingers and he just keep drilling shots, so it would take a lot to mess up his game. no one else in the league can do it all and do it as well as he does. he'll prove it over and over throughout the year. if he wants to do it at the end of the year he will.

I'm gonna watch that Heat/Clippers game tonight, should be entertaining.

Awesome game between Miami and LAC tonight. Really happy to see LAC come through with the win, but I think the game could have been considered a win for them regardless for keeping it so close and playing so hard. Griffin took, and missed, some horrible shots (except for the wide open 2 that he totally blew) and took a beating. Miami choked at the line and the "big 3" didn't do shit during the 4th and most of OT. But overall a really fun, tense game. Especially so when they were going back and forth by 1 starting in the last few of the 3rd. Was a bit surprised at how physical of a game it was, too. I was getting 90's Knicks/Bulls flashbacks during the second half/OT. And that slam by Jordan (who was great defensively with some big blocks) to seal it with some authority had me on my feet.

Billups flopped, Lebron didn't foul him. that's not basketball, so I could care less. the first quarter was staged for the wow factor, second quarter everyone stunk all of the sudden, giving it away the fast breaks in the first quarter were for Lebron and Griffin.

they can all suck a cock.

Al Horford is out at least 3-4 months with a torn pectoral muscle.
