I didnt watch as much of the earlier games in the series as I wouldve liked, but the last 3 games were great, probably the best I have seen in years,

I may be the only person here not happy with the outcome lol - I missed Dax Riggs last night to stay home and watch the final game. Cardinals were great when they needed to be, was a fantastic series by both teams. My mild admiration for baseball has been growing through the years and since my usually lousy team has made it to the world series two years in a row and I've had a chance to study the game in more detail, I'm becomming a much bigger fan. The Rangers Ballpark is 10 minutes from my house, so my usual 1 game a year may just move up to 3-4.

I ended up being disapointed that Texas lost too.

On the brighter side of things, at least Jayson Stark was proved wrong again.

I get a little satisfaction whenever he is proven wrong. He's a great writer, but ever since he quit talking to me after I made a comment about Buck Martinez I now think he is a dick.

Ron Darling is tough to listen to, but David Wells is the absolute worst announcer in any of the four major sports.

Man, I ended up watching a ton of Mets games this season because I bet the season under, which they barely met for me (they won 77 on a 77-1/2 number, whew) and between him and Keith Hernandez, the Mets definitely have the smarmiest booth in the bigs, but in it's own way it is sort of entertaining. Still if Extra Innings is giving me the option between the Mets broadcast and the other teams; I'm picking the other teams broadcast. Those guys are annoying, but they're knowledgeable as hell. They aren't like those dopes the Angels had a couple years back, who were annoying AND morons.

CC Sabathia expected to opt out of his deal (4 years, $92 million left) and reportedly look for a 6 year, $150. I hope the greedy bastard gets stuck with some cellar dweller but I don't see how the Yankees don't sign him, as that rotation is nothing without him. He's kinda got them by the balls.

Indians let Sizemore go but keep Carmona.

Padres play it cheap and let Harang and his $5 million option go.

Rockies let Aaron Cook go. He had a $11 million option has been in decline these past couple seasons so everyone knew that was coming. Rockies and Giambi though both agree to Giambi staying for one more year.

how would the yankees not resign CC? hes not opting out for the reason of leaving the yankees. hes opting out the samereason arod did a few years back. for the sole purpose of getting a higher paying contract. there is 0 cnance that cc pitches for any team other than the yankees. i could see oswalt going to ny for a year too

I'm not disagreeing with you but there could be some desperate team, Rangers for example, who could break the bank for him to land a stud #1 pitcher.

LaRussa's retirement makes the possibility of Pujols leaving all the more likely IMO...Pujols-approved replacements would likely be Oquendo, McKay and Torre...McGwire would be the long shot...don't think he's ready just yet...helluva hitting coach though...regardless of who they pursue, the Cards will have to act extremely fast before Pujols can court other suitors...

Also, saw where Aramis Ramirez is gonna test the market...he quietly had a helluva season...should be an enticing option for a number of teams looking to shore up 3B...

I read somewhere that CJ Wilson could sign with the Angels. That could work because he's a #2 starter and would fit in as the #3 on the Angels staff behind Weaver and Haren.

He seems like an Orange County type too.
