Yanks are screwed. That rotation is not looking too good at all.

awe come on dude. freddy garcia will eat up innings. colon will probably do well too. they night move joba back into the rotation

Other than CC and possibly Hughes, the Yanks rotation is terrible. Colon and Garcia are way past their prime, and i doubt either one of them will make it past May without making at least one trip to the DL. I won't even begin to discuss Burnett because he has pretty much lost it.

the only thing that makes sense is joba. freddy garcia should eat up some innings. i doubt colo will do much. who knows burnett might pitch like hes a blue jay this year. he is such a wild card. the yankees have alot of questions in my mind.. the very noticable lack of range on the left side of the infield is a joke. they shpuld have made horge reire then moved jeter to rf and then swisher to dh and traded for eric aybar to play short

Cashman has been pretty adamament that Joba is best used in the pen due to that shoulder injury he suffered a couple years back. Makes it seem like his shoulder really might not allow him a return to the rotation.

Burnett is a crapshoot. He seems to be pretty consistently inconsistent over the years that he might be able to pull out a good season. He might not and I would think most are pessimistic about Burnett. I probably think Burnett a little more capable than Frog but were I to put money on it, I'd take Frog's side.

Colon and Garcia. Maybe one of them makes the starting rotation, and it wont be Colon imo, but I agree with Frog that DL trips are just waiting for them whether the Major League DL or minor league DL.

i really dont know what the yankees are going to do. i can see peniero or haren being available by the deadline but not much more.them missing out on cliff lee really hurt them this year because they kinda put all of their chips in the basket for him.

The Yankees signed Eric Chavez the other day. If this were 2000-2003 the would be unstoppable. My money is on Chavez getting hurt sometime during Sprng Training.

the twins should sign orlando cabrera for dirt cheap to man short. i think the lineup would be pretty formidable at that point. the pitching however......

chavez signing wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have to play in the field every day. DH and occasional field starts would prevent some injuries from occurring. the dude can rake if he can play all the time. at least that's what i remember. or did his numbers fall off like all the juicers? seems like a lot of dudes that could hit had numbers drop and injuries rise after the juicing police started pokin around the majors.

He was a juicer and chronically injured all the time. I doubt his swing will ever come back.

too bad what Chavez became, was a solid player (and a Sox killer to boot)

Vlad in Baltimore could be interesting, barring health. He has to come in motivated to get the hell out of there, as quickly as he came in.. (1 year contract) after turning down 8mil 1 year offer from Texas. He needs to take a good hard look at his agent there, who really dropped the ball and then was able to save face. He, at one point lost over 7 million holding out for more money. If he comes in, in shape, he could put up some good numbers.

Pujols looking to break the bank and still no offer on the table, a week before set deadline. I seriously think he's an amazing player, but looking forward, how can you pay him based on history and past stats. You can't. He essentially got paid and outplayed the figures by outproducing the contract value.. You have to look at his production moving forward if you're smart. I would seriously consider trading him. Makes more fiscal sense, imo. He's as valuable as the team around him, which is pretty darned good, but like any human being, the numbers should and will tail off leaving St Louis with a huge percentage of cap on a first baseman.

that was Lozano talking, to force a hand, keeps the ball in Pujols' court (and of course in his best interest)

As a 10 and 5 guy, Pujols has the right to block any trade that his team tries to make. Of course, if the situation gets tenuous enough and the right situation pops up, you never can say never.

One, now. Damn you people are anxious, 43 days 'til the draft. I'm too busy crushing the fantasy basketball league to think about breakout pitchers.

I was in two last year. I think three is gonna be my limit and yeah, I want to limit it to cash leagues only. Stefan, the NYC boys I fucking schooled last season and maybe one of my own, as I've been threatening to do for some time.

I have to say that the whining about vetos soured me on Stefan's league last season. If you join a league, abide by the rules, but geeze, he SET UP the league and was whining. heh, I don't know, maybe I won't even get an invite this year. He runs something like five leagues though. It's too bad he couldn't have rounded up the same crew I played with in 2009. That was a GREAT group.

I saw some fantasy MLB publications up at the supermarket tonight, so yeah, it is definitely ON!

Also after last season, any league I join, I'm gonna be 100% I can make the fucking draft! It's gonna be weird this season. Opening Day is on a Wednesday. I can't swing my Opening Day/Las Vegas pilgrimage together this year as I've done over the last four seasons and I think it's going to fuck up a lot of draft options for me (as I'm heading down to Vegas the weekend before the season starts).

I should just probably go back to betting my O/U's offshore and stay home, but Vegas is just too fun and it's 100% legal.

I had to send invites to everyone who was in the league last year. If anyone decides they don't want to play this year I will keep you in mind about filling their spot.

so pujols rejected his last deal will shut down negotiations. the cards would be tards to give poopholes a 10 year deal. he would be like 39 and 40 and making approx 30 mill a year. ridiculous. that would cripple that franchise. not that that would matter to me if the cards were rendered useless. joe buck might drown in his own tears. on second thought, i hope that the cards do sign pujols to a 10 year deal
