Back On Black reissued this so I was finally able to get a copy of this. It's mint! Like it better than any of the other late 70's/early 80's Whitesnake I've ever heard.

Whitesnake with Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden was such a great band but all the studio albums sound a little too tame. Live the band was so much more ferocious and and this live-album captured the band at their peak (or peaks since it actually two single live-albums from different years).

Did you ever get to see them back then?

Revisited this one several months back and it was better than I remember it being as a teenager.

Still own the vinyl copy I bought probably close to 30 years ago.

Was yours single or double?

The single albums were only released in Japan as far as I remember. The double-album felt a bit of a chash-in back then, no gatefold sleeve and only one printed inner sleeve. But I played it to death.
Saw Whitesnake a bunch of times around that time. In 1980 supporting AC/DC. We were big AC/DC-fans but bigger Purple-fans so the idea of David Coverdale, Jon Lord and Ian Paice being the opening act felt wrong. Went in the first row for Whitesnake, banged my head senseless and stayed in the balcony for AC/DC - as some kind of silly teenager protest.
Two more headline-shows in 81, first in the spring with Slade opening, then again in the winter with Billy Squier as support. All killer shows.

Are there any good DVD's of this era? Really loving this tape!
