Bought it at the show. Very harmony guitar laden kickass rock qua rock. Great grooves, gargled grit singing no farther "out" than Motorhead. Strong live. I'll write some more after I give it a few more listens. It seems very much along Eric "ATP et. al." Larsons trip but the if those two guys really were/are? in Face Down In Shit they've really decided to work out their rock jones.

TJ (the "other" guitarist) sings a few of the songs- maybe 4? He sounds pretty similar to Larson, except Erik's got a little more range and is slightly less gravelly. I only mention it because you might not even notice (since I've seen them live a couple times, I knew). Anyway, this album smokes! I think I like the slower stuff best, but we aren't talking ballads here- more like mid-tempo head banging stuff. Every song has a thick groove, ala ATP (no surprise). Plus, you gotta love the Pantera spoof/rip-off ("I Don't Even Like Pantera Anymore").
This would be on my top 10 of 2010, but I think the official release is '11, so I'm guessing it'll make that list.

Perfectly said. I really enjoy this cd. Much better than I thought. This & the new Suplecs are 2 smokin' early 2011 releases by SS. It will be interesting to see if these can be topped.

I listened to the album (gotta love these forums, it's making me listen to current music to stay up-to-date with topics), and although it took me a bit to get used to the style, I did find it pretty damn good. I have a review upcoming in a couple of days, but I did have to laugh at the Pantera shout out, and "The Night They Shoot Ol' Dixie Down," which is an obvious play off of The Band's "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," I also found amusing.
A good solid release, seeming to come more from ATP's second-to-last album, Fulton Hill, then their final one, Open Fire (which is my favorite). Still it was a good way to spend the better part of an hour, and I'd like to see where the act moves from here.

In the middle of my first listen and really digging it. The ATP connection is obvious but that doesn't handicap the album, imo, the music holds up to it.

Really if you don't spend a few bucks seeing these guys you miss out - realllly good live.

They rule live, it's true. Love the Might Could t-shirt too, one of my favorites.
