Speaking of St Vitus, I am going there for this...

7/13 - Droids Attack

Their last album Must Destroy (2010) was awesome.

Did you people know the Melvins are playing tonight at....

Lit?

Haha, seriously. I'm not a big fan, so no big deal to me. But, that's kinda ridiculous. As you can imagine, it sold out in advance.

Takin her easy the rest of this brootal summer with two acoustic gigs at Vitus. Mike YOB the 21st July followed by Wino the 22nd August. Never really seen an acoustic gig before, so looking forward to both just out of curiosity. Will it hold my interest? Don't rightly know. I've liked what dudes in the heavy scene have put out acoustic wise, but outside of Neil Young I don't really dig on acoustic stuff. My dad played me too much dylan and simon and garfunkel growing up I think. I am really looking forward the Mike's show, as I haven't had the opportunity to hear his solo debut yet, and plan on picking up a copy there. Anyone else going to these two shows? See ya'll there. My lady friend will probably be in tow. Say hello.

As much as I love YOB, I really hate what I've heard of Mike's acoustic stuff. I'm not against acoustic or even different types of music but I won't be going to that show. I am interested in hearing Nate Hall's music though and I'm a big USX fan, I still need to check that out.

I've seen Wino acoustic show, it was ok.

I'm not into acoustic shows- I can only think of one I enjoyed... Ben Smith, maybe 10 years ago.
I am sure I've seen some others, but can't remember any, so they couldn't have been good (for me).

I'm sending this from lovely Asbury Park... I have a sliver of a view of the Stone Pony from my hotel. (Jill and I decided at noon we were coming down for the night.)

Did you stay at that damn Berkeley Hotel again. That place sucks. Asbury must have been nice for the 4th though.

We stayed at the Empress, which was at the other end of the boardwalk... much better location for walking around. But, my room at the Berkley was a renovated one, and was really nice. The Empress, was a dump by comparison. Since it was so last-minute, I didn't have much of a choice. We had fun, though. The beach was actually pretty nice... we were thinking that the $6 charge for beach access must keep a lot of the riffraff out.
On a related note, we went to Coney Island over the weekend. We have been many times, but the crowd had to be triple the highest capacity I've ever seen.
I'm declaring Coney Island the Number One Most Ghetto Beach in the WORLD.

NOW an email DAMNIT that no longer postoned but cancelled. what the shit is this? why did OM just book and press release a tour? yeah, it's cancelled at mhow, but it's again now @ bowery, isn't it?! ISN'T IT?!?!?!?!?! Why should I repurchase a fucking ticket to a show? That does'nt make any sense, for fuck's sake the price for a ticket @ the bowery is 15, same as it was for the gig in williamsburg.

something isn't making sense here if both clubs are run by bowery presents.

I don't know, I hadn't seen that it was back on for November but shitty if I need to repurchase a ticket. Oh well, I'll still be there to see the show anyway, whenever it is.
