ASSEMBLE HEAD IN SUNBURST SOUND
San Francisco psychedelic rock band ASSEMBLE HEAD IN SUNBURST SOUND releases its long-awaited new album Manzanita, described by the group as "jangly and fuzzy and spacey and contemplative" and a record that "conjures the feelings of sitting on a hill on Saturday at sunset and considering everything that's great and beautiful and fucked up all at once”. Magnet has just premiered the brand new ASSEMBLE HEAD song "L.A. Sacrifice", saying "Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound holds true to the "sunburst sound" in its name, like hometown contemporaries Girls but with more shoegaze and less '60s-pop influence", and calls the song a "heady jam with bass hooks like Ride."
Recorded in Grass Valley, CA's Louder Studios (Howlin Rain, Melvins), Manzanita is the follow up to the band's 2009 release When Sweet Sleep Returned which was called "a fascinating blend of post-apocalyptic dread and blissed-out reverie" by Pitchfork and "space-traveling fuzzbox boogie" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
