The Fuzz will be hitting a local studio in Dallas this weekend to begin recording 4 songs. It has not been decided if these 4 will be used as an EP or if its the first half of a full length album, kind of depends on how the sessions go over the weekend and coming month. We will probably release one or more of the songs as a download before an official release though. More info soon.. Peace

Finished tracking a 4 song EP over the weekend at Klearlight studios in Mesquite, TX (Dallas suburb) with Scott Cooksey at the controls both engineering and producing. Scott got us to dig deep and pull out some great performances. Raw mixes sound fantastic. Will probably be a month before all editing, mixing, and mastering are done. Release plans are now being discussed. I'll post the photo diary of the sessions this evening.

New 4 song EP is now being mixed - by engineer Scott Cooksy (Divine Eve). Sounding great so far. Hope to have completed by mid Feb and ready for distribution. Its taking a little time, but we'd rather be meticulous than rush something out that doesn't sound right.

We have also begun writing the next EP and instead of recording older material next next time, we'll try to deliver new stuff more often. There are three new songs in the works, the first will be played live on Feb 3 in Dallas when we support Honky. I think it captures points in time where our heads are at much better by doing fewer songs for release. The new stuff is doomier and less southern stoner rock than the stuff being mixed now. The EP, which I believe will the format we go with, is just more cost effective to do 4 or 5 songs every 5-6 months. We might end up combining songs for a full length at some point but why? We'd rather write and release I think.

Finally an update on recording - after we fired our singer in February, we had to hire a new guy and get him ready for some shows we had booked. Had to rewrite some lyrics as well. We finally got to get back to the studio last night and re-record all of the vocals on our EP. All done, sounds killer. Mixing starts in two weeks. Art work and such begins in the next couple of weeks as well. With schedules of our engineer/producer who has some shows to play in Europe with his band this summer, we look to have things wrapped up and released in the fall. Hopefully September. Once we get some more things done or news, we'll post it.
